Red Galileo has been ruled out of the Spring Carnival
A Melbourne Cup contender has been ruled out of the Spring Carnival after showing signs of lameness at trackwork this morning.
Red Galileo was found to be lame this morning following his trackwork and connections have opted to spell the horse ruling him out of the Melbourne Cup 2019.
The Saeed Bin Suroor trained galloper was 33rd in Melbourne Cup order of entry and was set to contest the Hotham Handicap at Flemington on Saturday to try and win his way into the Melbourne Cup Field.
Red Galileo finished fifth in the Geelong Cup which was his first Australian start.
