Australian Derby winner Angel Of Truth won’t take his place in the 2019 Melbourne Cup field with connections choosing not to accept for the $8 million race.
The Gwenda Markwell-trained four-year-old was already assured a start in Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup before running in yesterday’s Bendigo Cup where he finished 11th, 8.5 lengths behind winner Top Of the Range.
Angel Of Truth, who was a $301 outsider in Melbourne Cup markets, will now return to Kembla Grange and be sent for a spell.
