The Magic Millions Carnival on the Gold Coast could be on the cards for Inhabit if she is successful at Morphettville Parks.

Two-year-old filly Inhabit will be racing for a trip to Queensland when she attempts to remain unbeaten on Saturday.

A debut winner at Murray Bridge in October, Inhabit heads to the Sportsbet Same Race Multi Two-Year-Old Plate (1000m) at Morphettville Parks on Saturday.

The filly’s task of remaining undefeated has been made a little easier with the scratching of three of the six acceptors, leaving just two opponents.

Trainer Michael Hickmott hopes to head to Queensland with Inhabit for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 17.

Prior to that outing, Hickmott is planning to run the filly in the Aquis Gold Pearl (1100m) on January 10 but first Inhabit needs to win on Saturday to book a trip.

“If she wins on Saturday, she should get enough prize money to qualify for the two-year-old race up there,” Hickmott said.

“The plan would be for her to go up there the week before and run in the 1100-metre fillies’ race and then back up into the Magic Millions the following week.

“We’re getting a little bit ahead of ourselves as she needs to win on Saturday first to get the prize money on the board and then she’s probably earned her way to go up there.”

Hickmott said it would be an exciting time to have the filly on the Gold Coast for two runs during the Magic Millions carnival.

He said Inhabit was owned by a group of females, including Hickmott’s wife, the family of prominent owner John O’Neill and Victoria Racing Club chief executive Kylie Rogers.

“She’s a female owned horse, so she will be running for the Lady bonuses as well up there,” Hickmott said.

“There are some good owners in this filly, and it would be good to get them all up there.

“There would be a rather large party up there regardless of whether she wins or not, and we just now need to get her up there qualified.”
