Veterinary inspections have given Golden Slipper runners the all clear to start

Following an inspection by Racing NSW vets, all runners in the Golden Slipper field have been given the all-clear to run in the Group 1 race for two-year-olds at Rosehill on Saturday.

Victorian colt Coleman and the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Espionage had been under an injury cloud earlier in the week.

Coleman’s trainer Matt Laurie told Racing NSW stewards that the colt had been experiencing some “sensitivity” on the inside of his near hoof.

Laurie added that Coleman had responded well to a three-quarter shoe being applied to the affected hoof and was planning to run the colt in that shoe on Saturday.

Bott said Espionage suffered an over-reach wound to the inside of his near-fore heel, but the co-trainer said the two-year-old had not missed any work as a result of the set-back.

Racing NSW vets conducted an official inspection on Friday, declaring all runners suitable to race.

Chief vet Dr Peter Curl also advised Think About It was suitable to race in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m).

The Joe Pride-trained galloper returned an elevated white blood cell count during routine testing earlier in the week while a follow up endoscopic examination had returned a clear result.

Pride told RSN on Friday he would have no hesitate to scratch Think It Over if he believed the horse was not 100 per cent right on race morning.
