Trainer Rod Symons looks to have a nice filly on his hands if the market is a guide
A first starter at Kyneton on Tuesday has been subject to a betting plunge.
The Rod Symons trained filly Kaniva opened at $14 with Sportsbet and has been heavily backed into the $3.60 favourite for the second event at Kyneton.
The filly by Kuroshio has not been seen officially at the trails but the weight of money for the debutant suggests the stable has a good opinion of her.
“I’m surprised by the strength of the market following,” Symons told Racing.com on Monday. “She’s trialed okay (unofficially) but it’s a bit different then going into a race.”
