Caulfield hosts a 10-race program tomorrow with the Chairman’s Stakes for the two-year-old’s and Bellmaine Stakes for the mares the feature races on what looks a tricky enough race card to find winners.
The track is rated a Good 4 and the rail is out 4 metres for the entire circuit. Expecting the inside lanes to be the right spot and the track to play in a way that favours those on speed around the circle (1400m and above) and runners drawn in for the chute start to be at an advantage.
NUMBERS GAME
Logan Bates is having a breakout season in the saddle and that was backed up by last week’s win in the Group 1 Railway Handicap in New Zealand on Jigsaw. Logan has become a regular in the metropolitan winner’s circle of late and this is backed up by some terrific stats for his rides on Saturdays in the metro area in the 25/26 season. He is smashing the market’s expectations in this space and is clearly representing a lot of value at the minute for those supporting his mounts.

KEY PLAYS
Race 5 – 5 Komito
ODDS @ swiftbet – $4.20
Great debut run when kept coming at Horsham and then made a mess of his opposition at Werribee when running some good splits late off a slow speed. Step up in trip looks ideal and brings some fresh blood to this race which has a few well exposed types at the top of the market in Our Chief and Jenni Gone Bonkers.
He maps for a nice run from Gate 4 and can see him being very strong late.
Komito breaks through at just his second career start, showing his talent with a well-deserved victory. Still plenty to learn but all the ability is there, and he looks a horse who will only keep improving with time. 🔥

Race 7 – 11 Bossy Benita
ODDS @ swiftbet – $8.50
Open race and thought the recent jump outs of this girl have been excellent when chasing the airborne Jigsaw and beating speedster Midwest in her latest pieces of work. Thought there’s a lot of horses here in the market who are either battling for their best form or map to be a long way back.
She’ll be right on speed here and looks to have been targeted fresh at this race. She was also able to win first up last preparation, happy to speck her on an each-way basis.

Race 10 – 6 Zouper Fund
ODDS @ swiftbet – $8.50
Big win first up at Ballarat which rated very well for this and then was good at Cranbourne on a track that possibly didn’t suit him but certainly tried hard when finishing 3rd behind Meridius. He maps for a decent run in behind the speed here and like the gap between runs for him as he races best on the fresh side. With the 3kg claim for Dakotah Keane he gets in with 55kgs and he still profiles as a horse on the up.
Thought he is well over the odds on his recent form and he has a will to win, hard to knock.
