As the gates fly open, and as they jump as one, it’s the Spring Fashion Stakes Competition ‘that gets your fun back on track’ at Royal Randwick, ‘in an exhilarating trackside atmosphere.’

Always the opening day of the Spring Everest Carnival, it’s the $1 million Fujitsu General George Main Stakes that ‘attracts the finest thoroughbreds, once dominated by the legendary Winx.’

Although COVID still says no to attending to Fujitsu George Main Stakes Day, it’s a splash of red and a red lapel rose that’s the emerging tradition for this day in highlighting your Spring Fashion.

“Don’t hold back” says ATC Stylist Donny Galella “as we’re going big, we’re going bold and we’re going red for the first day of the Everest Carnival, as this season there’re so many on-trend colours.”

“As Fashion Stakes Resident Judge, I’m looking forward to seeing outfits that are stylish, on-trend, worn with confidence and showcasing personal style and flair, and I’m a sucker for detail.”

“For the ladies I’ll be zooming in on headwear, shoes, clutch, jewellery, hair and makeup, while for gents I’ll be looking at suit style, the tailoring and cut, grooming and the lovers of headwear.”

The legendary Spring Fashion Stakes Competition is run Australia-wide over three Everest Carnival race days with a male, female and household winner selected by an expert panel of judges.

Entrants will be judged on an aesthetically pleasing Spring race day outfit styled with shoes, headwear and accessories, and to dress in the sense of befitting the members dress code.

The outfit should reference Spring racing dress codes and current trends, while expressing individual style, sophistication and creativity, while reframing from the ‘not encouraged’ criteria.

It’s Fashion Stakes Ambassador Jules Robinson who says “I love seeing women with confidence and who know to dress their unique body, and accelerate their natural shape.”

“I will be looking for originality and a quirky feature of some type. Dress to your personality and balance your make up, making it relatively simple by adding a long lash for a bold red lip.”

“Hydration, hydration, hydration” says go-to hair and make up artist Michael Brown, who says skin preparation and hydration is the key to looking fresh and for long lasting make up.

“Less is often more, and find what needs to be the statement area. Balance with the overall outfit and millinery, say a strong brow and eye is great with sleek hair worn with larger headwear.”

With COVID restriction still in place Spring Stylists can still enter this Everest Carnival from home with the winners announced on the ATC website or on the Club’s social media channels.

In taking a snap portrait shot for entering the female and male categories, it’s don’t forget your shoes, headwear and accessories, with images having more than one person being Household.

Back to the track, its twelve horses vying for a $6 million plus winner’s cheque in just over a minute that makes the $15 million TAB Everest of 1200 metres the world’s richest turf race.

Again, it’s this fifth running that’s attracted our best sprinters, with its elegant 7777 black diamond trophy ‘putting the global sporting spotlight firmly on Sydney’s royal racecourse.’

‘As well as epic racing throughout the day, the best of Sydney is brought together with chic race day fashions, bespoke pop-up bars and an array of innovative hospitality experiences.’

With a view to gold, and sporting a yellow lapel rose, its ‘get your fun back on track for Golden Eagle Day at Rosehill Gardens’ on Saturday 30 October, Day 3 of the Spring Fashion Stakes.

In Sydney’s West hosting its pinnacle Spring race, The XXXX Golden Eagle, a 1500m race for four-year-olds and Australia’s third richest race, with trainers saying a horse peaks as a four-years old.’

‘There’s $7.5m in prize money to be won and $750,000 donated to the winning owners’ charities, with the action from Flemington’s Derby Day unfolding on large screens around the racecourse.’
