Brisbane trainer Desleigh Forster is preparing to bring two horses to Sydney for Group One races but hopes to make a big impact in Queensland this weekend.

Forster is heading south with Doncaster Mile hopeful Too Good To Refuse and Queen Elizabeth Stakes candidate Cylinder Beach.

“I was planning to run Too Good To Refuse in the Canterbury Stakes next Saturday but I will probably switch him to the 1400 metre Group Three race (National Sprint) in Canberra on Sunday week,” Forster said.

Cylinder Beach has his first run back from a break in the Open Hcp (1350m) at Doomben on Saturday where he has 60kg.

“I know it is a big weight but he has lengths on these in natural ability. The 1350 metres suits and it should give us a good send-off for the Sydney trip.

“I also know it is a big plan to run against Winx in the Queen Elizabeth but at the worst it will give us an idea where we are for the winter.”

Breeder Basil Nolan has 24 good reasons to hope Forster can have a two-track double at the weekend.

Forster will have Lady Lark in the two-year-old race at Doomben and Yoichi in the juvenile race at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.

Both horses are by Nolan’s stallion Golden Archer who stands at his Raheen Stud on the Darling Downs.

Golden Archer won eight races when trained by Peter Moody in Melbourne including five as a two-year-old.

He has had limited first crop runners with Lady Lark his first winner at a midweek race at Doomben in January.

She has since been placed behind two promising horses – Snitzkraft at the Sunshine Coast and Ruby Red Heart at Doomben two weeks ago.

Golden Archer has 24 yearlings in the Magic Millions March Sale.

“Obviously winners are the best advertisement. The Golden Archers are coming along nicely but a double would be great,” Nolan said.

Yoichi is raced by several members of the syndicate which raced the Forster-trained Adebesi.
