After a debut win at Moe, Little Miss Kubi is headed to town for her second race start

Cliff Brown wouldn’t mind a stable full of horses like debut Moe winner Little Miss Kubi.

The three-year-old daughter of Headwater heads to town on Saturday for start number two when she contests the Ladbrokes Plate (1200m) at Moonee Valley.

Little Miss Kubi ploughed through the heavy ground at Moe earlier in the month to record a 2-¾ length and Brown is hopeful the filly will keep her record intact.

Brown said Little Miss Kubi just goes about her business in the stable without causing any fuss.

“She’s that quiet little horse in her box that never causes any grief and just goes about her work and eats,” Brown said.

“It wasn’t until her first jump-out that we thought, ‘that was alright’ and we thought that she might have something.

“It would be fantastic to have a stable full of horses like her.”

Brown said Little Miss Kubi went about her work at Moe over 1000m in a professional manner and is looking forward to seeing her line up against stronger opposition on Saturday.

One thing Brown does know is Little Miss Kubi relishes wet ground and if the predicted rain on Thursday, Friday and Saturday does arrive, it will enhance her chances.

“I don’t really know where she sits,” Brown said.

“You can’t do much more than win on debut. She was good, really good, and we’ll learn a bit more about her after this.”

Little Miss Kubi is also entered for a Benchmark 64 Three-Year-Old Handicap at Sale on Sunday.

‘I’ll accept as well at Sale, just in case it’s weaker or a Heavy 10,” Brown said.

“She loves a heavy track.”

Punters betting early on the Moonee Valley program liked the debut win of Little Miss Kubi as she has firmed from $5 into $4 favouritism with TAB.
