Champion Western Australian sire Blackfriars has sadly passed away after breaking his leg following colic surgery on Friday.
The son of Danehill was Champion WA sire six times in the years 2010/11, 2011/12, 2012/13, 2013/2014, 2015/2016.
He was a G1 winner on the track having won the Victoria Derby as a three year old whilst he sired 69 individual Stakes performed horses.
Blackfriars progeny includes Group 1 winners Black Heart Bart, Playing God and God Has Spoken.
