In a remarkable weekend for the Parnham family, the father-son duo of Neville and Steven Parnham celebrated a significant victory at the Group 1 Railway Stakes with their four-year-old gelding, Bustler.
This triumph in the prestigious $1.5 million Railway Stakes, held over a mile at Ascot, marked a career milestone for the Parnhams.
Despite strong competition, Bustler emerged as the clear winner, overshadowing Victorian rivals Tuvalu and Forgot You, who finished 12th and 14th, respectively.
Earlier in the day, the Parnhams also claimed success in the Group 2 WA Guineas with another promising horse, Zipaway.
Reflecting on his 40-year-long career, Neville Parnham expressed immense satisfaction with this achievement.
“Itβs obviously right up there with one of the best days Iβve had,” he stated.
He also highlighted his son Steven’s exemplary riding skills in securing Bustler’s victory, saying, “Steve pulled out an 11 out of 10 ride.”
The Railway Stakes victory holds special significance for Neville Parnham, who commented, “The Railway Stakes has eluded me so far in my 40-year career, itβs just one race I wanted to tick off.”
Looking ahead, Bustler might compete in the Group 1 Northerly Stakes on December 9 or the Group 3 Gold Rush the following week, continuing the Parnham family’s impressive racing legacy.
