20/6/2026 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Belmont, Belmont Guineas day

The Belmont Winter Carnival continues on Saturday, headlined by the Belmont Guineas (1600m). The weather is fine, the track is soft (6) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

6 Ace Queen Suited (Bet Now: $5.00) looks a relatively straight bat play here. Last start track/distance winner, finishing best from off speed to get the job done. More depth here but she has the runs on the board to say she’s hard to beat.

1 Eddietemple (Bet Now: $7.50) should be better for the debut run, which came a fortnight back over 1000m here. He just found them a bit sharp but kept chasing and finding the line in a pretty good effort in defeat. Like the rise to 1200m, and with a more positive ride, takes beating.

5 Threads Of Glory (Bet Now: $41.00) is a son of Awesome Rock that debuts. He has had two trials to get ready for start one and hasn’t looked too bad to my eye. I’d say watch the market and see what it does with him.

6 Hope To Rule (Bet Now: $5.00) comes back to the mile after racing over 1700m last Wednesday here, landing on speed and was there to win but just found one better in impressive winner Tiff’s Lad. Good racing style, she should be around the mark.

4 Flaming Ronda (Bet Now: $6.00) was a massive winner at Pinjarra last start, sitting three/four wide the trip and was entitled to knock right up but she kept finding under pressure and lifted under Pike to score. If there is petrol left in the tank, she can measure up.

2 Cruise To Rio (Bet Now: $26.00) steps up to the mile after racing over 1200m here at the midweeks where she got back to near last in the run and while she was never a winning threat, I liked the way she finished her race off in defeat. Like the rise in trip and should be strong late.

3 Nonesospicy (Bet Now: $7.50) is hard to beat for Team Casey after a third to Xentaro two weeks ago at this track/distance. She was near the speed and there to win but couldn’t quite finish the job when third. Good racing style, she takes beating.

5 Elite Beau (Bet Now: $10.00) is five weeks between runs since a track/distance effort when down the track behind Xentaro, sitting off speed and failed to come on, with the vet post race finding blood in his mouth. Been freshened up and his best is good enough so don’t dismiss.

2 Last Stylebender (Bet Now: $3.50) ran fourth two weeks back at this track/distance behind Xentaro. He landed outside the speed and was there to win but just felt the pinch. Good racing style, will press forward and be around the mark.

8 Special Counsel (Bet Now: $9.00) looks the one on the up. Handy three year old for Team Williams that would have run a cheeky race in the Guineas if they went down that path but go here instead. Two wins on the bounce, the latest coming at Northam when giving his rivals a start and a beating. Confident he can measure up and win again.

2 Our Mate Archie (Bet Now: $5.50) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1400m at Pinjarra when off speed and kept chasing in a good return when second to Linchpin. Fitter and up to the mile, he’s one of the hardest to beat.

6 Too Much Talk (Bet Now: $9.00) was game in defeat last Wednesday at this track/distance. He landed outside the speed and was there to win but couldn’t quite get there when second. He’ll press forward and run an honest race.

4 Kay Tee Why (Bet Now: $7.00) gets the nod for me. Three weeks between runs since a second at this track/distance, getting the suck run behind the speed and presented to win but just found one better in The Calabrese. He’ll sit off the good speed and I think can launch over the top.

7 The Calabrese (Bet Now: $4.00) won that race mentioned above, giving them a start and a beating from off speed to score. Now has gate one and could get buried back on the fence, but with luck, will launch late.

1 Ginnivan (Bet Now: $26.00) couldn’t find the lead when resuming three weeks back at this track/distance and while he wasn’t beaten far, it sealed his fate behind The Calabrese. If he can find the front, he’s quite dangerous against this lot.

14 Brazen Butcher (Bet Now: $3.70) steps up to 120m after a dynamic first up win over 1000m here, giving his rivals a start and a beating in an electric performance and return. Off that win, I say he’s the one to beat here.

6 Magnique (Bet Now: $23.00) attempted to lead throughout a fortnight back at this track/distance, giving a strong kick from the front and was hailed as the winner but just got the staggers late. Lands on speed and should run well.

1 Eliteone (Bet Now: $21.00) is a Simon Miller trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since March 14 at Ascot when off speed and whacked late behind Horcrux. Looks to have trialled well enough, watch betting.

Keen on 2 Westbound (Bet Now: $9.50). He was very good in the Raconteur two weeks ago over 1400m here, off a freshen up. He got a fair way out of his ground but worked home strongly when fourth. Better for the run and rising to 1600m, he takes beating.

13 Ladies Pro (Bet Now: $15.00) somehow won several weeks ago over 1400m here. She looked in awful trouble pretty much throughout the straight but managed to slice her way through and Pike drove her home to score. She’s a talented filly, confident she can measure up.

7 Western Ace (Bet Now: $61.00) was better than what the form guide says in the Raconteur. He was back in a slowly run race and did make up headway but was never a winning threat. Like him up in trip and with a more genuine tempo, he’s dangerous at odds.

8 Olympic Park (Bet Now: $7.50) is one of the more fascinating runners on the card. Michael Grantham trained four year old that hasn’t raced since the 2025 Challenge Stakes back in February when down the track behind Deel Her In, suffering nasty injuries. Could have been retired but he’s been nursed back to health and his trial was quite good. If he’s ready to go, he’s a clear top seed.

6 Awesome Boy (Bet Now: $1.70) was knocking on the door to win and that win did come last start, with an all the way triumph two weeks ago at this track/distance, finding plenty under pressure to fend them off and score. He’s found winning form, he can go on with it.

2 Lavalier (Bet Now: $101.00) is a Neville Parnham trained four year old that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since the ATA when working his way to the Perth Cup but didn’t fire and was spelled. Recent trial was encouraging, watch betting.

NEXT BEST: Race Seven Number 2 Westbound

LONG SHOT: Race Eight Number 8 Olympic Park
