Bushfire threat looms over central Victoria racing heartland

The fire threat in form of a bushfire burning in central Victoria continues to threaten racing and breeding properties in the region, including the famous Lindsay Park property, the training base of the Ben, Will and JD Hayes training partnership.

In a statement released by Lindsay Park, JD Hayes confirmed to Racing.com on Friday morning that … ‘All horses, staff and property are safe after the out of control fire that has impacted multiple horse properties in Longwood arrived on their doorstep last night.

In a statement to SENTrack, Will Hayes said … ‘Last night we were hit directly. CFA are heroes. All horses have been fed. They have water and all necessary veterinary treatments have been given.

‘Bunkering down for another scary day and thinking of everybody in the community.’
