There was a time when the enigmatic BIVOUAC (Exceed and Excel – Dazzler) was rated the best sprinter on earth.
From today, however, he is going to be aimed at becoming the best stallion at stud.
Godolphin officially retired him after his disappointing, unplaced run last Saturday behind his arch-rival Nature Strip in the $2.5m Gr 1 TJ Smith.
“He’s telling us that he’s now ready to head off to stud,” said trainer James Cummings on the Godolphin website. The trainer today said, “he is retiring “a sound and happy horse”.
“We can now look back on his huge performances, like the easy victories he had over those same horses in the spring of last year.”
“Everything that he achieved is the hallmark of an absolute superstar and I think he’s capable of following in the footsteps of Exceed And Excel himself,” he said.
He was about the best son of Exceed And Excel to ever race and he will be given every opportunity to become his best son in the barn.
During his stellar career, Bivouac won 7 races and placed 7 other times from 22 starts for career earnings of $5,668,860.
He won three Gr 1 races and his fastest 1200m was 1.08:69 and he three times broke 1:09.
He also ran 1:21.88 for 1400m showing his astonishing speed.
