The Australian Turf Club has confirmed the appointment of seasoned track curator David Anderson as the new Randwick racecourse manager. Anderson joins the ATC from the Illawarra Turf Club, where he held the position of Kembla Grange racecourse manager, bringing with him more than four decades of experience in the racing industry.
ATC’s head of racing and wagering, Nevesh Ramdhani, welcomed the appointment, describing Anderson as a rare talent. “David’s depth of knowledge and experience, combined with his passion for the industry, makes him an invaluable asset. He also has a proven track record of mentoring staff who have gone on to senior roles, which will be a huge benefit to our teams,” Ramdhani said.
Anderson steps into the role vacated by Michael Wood, who has been promoted to general manager overseeing all ATC racecourses at Randwick, Rosehill, Canterbury, and Warwick Farm.
“This is a very prestigious and challenging position that rarely becomes available, so I’m honoured to be appointed,” Anderson said. “My priority will be to settle in quickly with the spring carnival approaching and to build strong relationships with industry stakeholders.”
Anderson will officially commence his new duties on September 1.
