Trainer Henry Dwyer says Group 1 sprint star Asfoora has thrived in the UK since her Royal Ascot run and expects a big performance at Goodwood next week.
Asfoora finished just two lengths off in last month’s G1 King Charles III Stakes but Dwyer believes she’s now on an upward curve.
“For the first time for this (past) three or four months, it’s the first time I have been happy with her,” Dwyer told RSN927.
“She just didn’t really work for us going into Ascot.”
Asfoora is the $3.50 favourite for the Group 2 King George Qatar Stakes on August 1 and second pick for the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes later in the month.
“She’s obviously going to go there and be a really good chance and (I’m) probably going to be disappointed if she doesn’t win to be honest,” Dwyer said.
The mare has reportedly brightened up and added 20 to 25 kilograms since being spelled after Ascot.
