Red Verdon is under an injury cloud heading into Tuesday's Melbourne Cup
The injuries have continued for International Melbourne Cup contenders with another key runner under an injury cloud which could see him miss Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup.
The Ed Dunlop trained Red Verdon is set to miss the 2018 Melbourne Cup after the horse has spread a Plate and his near side foreleg hoof.
More information will be known about the extent of the injury in the next 24 hours although connections are still confident he will line-up in the Melbourne Cup Field.
Red Verdon was a $26 chance in Melbourne Cup odds before the news broke.
