Bloodstock agent James Harron has locked in Angel Capital as his representative for the $20 million The Everest, securing the emerging sprinter for his 2025 slot.
Harron finalised the deal with Yulong, who race the four-year-old, confirming the promising galloper as his contender for the world’s richest turf race.
The announcement ends any speculation that Yulong might instead reserve their slot for Private Harry, another of their headline horses. Private Harry had already been confirmed as a runner following his Group 1 breakthrough in The Galaxy during Sydney’s autumn carnival.
While Private Harry has a guaranteed spot, he did little to impress in his latest appearance, finishing unplaced in The Shorts at Randwick last Saturday.
Angel Capital, on the other hand, has surged into The Everest calculations with two eye-catching runs for new trainer Chris Waller this spring. He announced himself with a last-to-first win in the Listed Chautauqua Stakes before producing a luckless fourth in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield.
