Queensland stewards are questioning the ride of jockey Baylee Nothdurft on Vega One at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday.
Vega One was a luckless fourth in the race won by stablemate Just Orm but it was Nothdurft’s ride that sparked the most attention out of the race with the leading Metro jockey coming under fire from plenty of punters on social media.
Trainer Tony Gollan was also questioned over the tactics for the horse following the race.
“Vega One had 62 kgs today and he would have made it very interesting had he got a clear run in the straight,” Gollan said.
“He is a very good horse and I can hardly wait for the Stradbroke (a race that Vega One has already qualified for).”
The inquiry will be resumed on a date to be fixed.
