Racing futures punter turns $200 into $115,000

Every punter has their tale of a winning bet, but one lucky TAB customer has pulled off the futures multi of a lifetime during the Sydney autumn carnival.

With just $200 invested, the punter turned that into a staggering $115,022 after their bold five-leg multi landed at astronomical odds of $575.11. All selections were placed as ‘place’ bets before final fields were even announced, adding to the feat’s incredible nature.

The winning legs included Waltham ($13.50 place) in the Sydney Cup, Know Thyself ($2.25 place) in the Country Championships Final, Ceolwulf ($1.87 place) in the George Ryder Stakes, Lady Shenandoah ($2.25 place) in the Coolmore Classic and Joliestar ($4.50 place) in the Newmarket Handicap.

While the punter has chosen to remain anonymous after the remarkable collect, the winning bet slip was shared with radio host Dave Stanley during Tuesday’s edition of Punters Post Mortem.
