Ventura Storm has been heavily backedat a price in Caulfield Cup markets
It looks one of the most open Caulfield Cups we have seen in some time and punters tend to agree with the late money coming for horses at double figure odds.
Irish import Johannes Vermeer remains the clear favourite and best backed runner but has been slightly easy since markets re-opened this morning when scratchings came through at Caulfield with none in the Cup itself.
Punters think we could see a long priced winner today with numerous horses at big prices all shortening in Caulfield Cup markets.
The best backed runner at a price has been Ventura Storm who opened at $15 on Tuesday and has been solidly supported all week shortening into his current price of $11 and likely to start shorter if the money continues.
Another one at double figures to receive heavy support has been Harlem who opened at $11 and has been heavily backed into $9.50 with the Lindsay Park trained galloper one of the best backed runners since markets opened on Tuesday.
At bigger odds Marmelo has been well backed shortening from $19 into $17 after impressing at Werribee whilst Single Gaze has been backed this morning $31 into $27 as has Hardham $51 into $41 and Boom Time $61 into $35.
Early Caulfield Cup favourite Bonneval is now receiving some support after getting out to a big price of $8.50 she is now back into $7.50 whilst Humidor is also tightening up in markets $8.50 back into $8.00 but has been one of the best backed runners in the race with multiple Big Bets inc one of $20,000 placed on him.
Rank outsider of the Field He’s Our Rokkii has also been specked at $151 with one punter placing a $1,000 e/w bet at the $151 quote. View the Caulfield Cup BIG BETS.
