Punters hoping for Martini’s following the Sandown Cup

Gin Martini is favourite with Ladbrokes.com.au for the Sandown Cup (3200m) this afternoon at Caulfield in what looks an open and even two mile contest.

The John Sargent trained mare was far from disgraced in The Beauford at Newcastle last time and seems the horse on the up. She heads betting at $3.80.

Team Captain, who won this race last year, is hot on her heels at $4 and they have a good hold on betting, with San Huberto next best at $7. One at odds that has been specked is True Marvel, who placed in the race last year. He’s $11 in from $16.
