Punters will be riding Lankan Rupee home in the Bletchingly Stakes
Champion sprinter Lankan Rupee has lost none of his popularity, firming in betting for Saturday’s Bletchingly Stakes.
Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au has tightened the five-time Group 1 winner from $5.00 into $4.50 for the Caulfield Group 3. The last start Monash Stakes winner Supido heads betting, but has eased from $3.20 out to $3.50.
Ability ($8.00), a winner at his last three starts is also in demand and Queensland filly Savanna Amour ($12 into $9.00) has received good support.
“He was once regarded as the world’s best sprinter, but injuries have hampered Lankan Rupee in the latter part of his career. Supido is the best backed runner, but Lankan Rupee still has a strong following and it would be great to see him win,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.
