Sacred Star, who finished fifth in last year’s Stradbroke, is $11 with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au.
Because of revamping work at Eagle Farm, this year’s race will be run at Doomben over 1350m, which will suit Brisbane star Buffering ($15).
“Sacred Star performed strongly in Brisbane last winter before returning home and winning two Group 1’s. Trainer Tony Pike has targeted the Brisbane sprint as his main winter mission,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.
Villiers winner Rudy ($15) and Sir Moments ($21) appear the best of the local hopes after Buffering.
