The first of the Group l races at Randwick this Saturday is the Inglis Sires (1400m), where the market says it is an open contest.
Down below is a speed map, runner preview and $100 betting strategy for the 2026 Inglis Sires.
2026 Inglis Sires Runner Preview:
1. Fireball: Was okay in the Slipper but think he may need the paddock.
2. Tornado Valley: Fresh horse on the scene. Dodged the Slipper after the Todman and trialled really well for this…I think he’s a knockout hope.
3. Alibaba: Alibaba is in the mix. Interesting set up for him, freshened up since the Blue Diamond where he was one of the runs of the race in defeat, getting too far back and was wide but kept chasing with purpose with real purpose. Trialled super last week and he’ll eat up 1400m, plus is already proven at Randwick.
4. Campione D’Italia: Wasn’t hard to ignore the run of Campione D’Italia in the Slipper. Mile back, I loved the way he finished his race off in defeat behind Guest House, closing with real purpose. He’ll love getting to 1400m on the bigger track and is one of the hardest to beat.
5. Paradoxium: Going to the well one too many IMO. Hard Slipper run, can’t entertain him.
6. Zambales: I think he’s just a horse. Okay in the Slipper but not for me here.
7. Rich On Bubbles: Ideal map to offset potentially poor placement. Gritty wins her past couple and gets a suck run…just don’t think she’ll run 1400m.
8. Outspan: Solid in the Pago Pago but I don’t think he is up to this level.
9. Wolf Gap: Just battled in the Todman and from a tricky gate, I can’t entertain him.
10. I Am Dreaming: Impressive debut win but this looks too much too soon.
11. Dr Hook: Didn’t do a bad job in the VRC Sires but just think he might be a next prep horse.
12. Streisand: Best horse in the race, by a mile. The reason you are getting $3.60 and not $2.60, maybe shorter, is the 1400m query. If this was 1200m, absolutely would be $2.60. But, she was impressive fresh at 1280m in the Qualifier and has to be respected.
13. Miss Chanel: Miss Chanel is bursting to win. She was huge in The Showdown, sitting three/four wide the trip yet ambled up to hit the front, only to be nabbed late by a brilliant finale from Big Wigs. Think she would be better placed next week in the Percy Sykes but regardless, I think she’s an outside first four chance.
14. Rachini: Rachini comes to the big league for Bjorn Baker after a maiden win over 1350m at Wyong where she looked a good thing on paper and duly saluted, leading throughout to gap his rivals. Clearly a harder assignment here but like her back on the bigger track, she’ll press forward and has good upside.

2026 Inglis Sires Speed Map
Rachini should lead from fun based on how she jumped so well and clean at Wyong. Streisand should settle forward, while out wide, I think Paradoxium will come across and get the drag over via the stablemate Rachini.
