RACE FOUR

High Supremacy came in for late backing in The Agency Handicap (1400 metres).

The Richard & Michael Freedman-trained galloper was $7.50-$8 on the day and generally hovered around that price all afternoon.

Super Effort ($5-$4.60-$5) was the only horse to hold six figures with TAB Fixed Odds while Hot Spring Gold ($12-$7.50) was the subject of a strong push.

BETS: High Supremacy $1,000 @ $8

BETS: Hot Spring Gold $4,000 @ $8

BETS: Steel Diamond $1,000 e/w @ $13/$4

RACE FIVE

Atishu was backed into favouritism right at the death in the Bill Ritchie Handicap (1400 metres).

One of three runners they latched on to throughout the afternoon, Atishu ($3.90-$3.50) overhauled Looks Like Elvis ($34) in the shadows of the post.

Private Eye ($4.20-$3.40-$3.90) was the second best tried runner in the event and there wasn’t much between he and the winner in the end.

Harmony Rose ($3.80) was a clear third pick in that regard.

BETS: Atishu $3,000 @ $3.50

BETS: Looks Like Elvis $1,000 x $4,000 e/w @ $34/$6

BETS: Private Eye $1,000 @ $3.60

BETS: Harmony Rose $1,000 @ $3.80, $1,000 @ $3.70

RACE SIX

Four Moves Ahead didn’t have a great deal of support when compared to the other two favourites in the market for the Darley Tea Rose Stakes (1400 metres).

She’s All Class ($3.50-$4.40-$4.20) held 40 percent of the money on the race – nearly two-and-a-half times as much as the next best which was Mallory ($5-$4.60).

Of the others, Swift Witness ($13-$10) was specked at eachway odds as was Robodira ($9.50-$6.50-$8) and Latino Blend ($12).

BETS: She’s All Class $1,000 e/w @ $4.40/$1.80, $10,000 x $5,000 e/w @ $4.20/$1.75, $1,188 @ $4.20

BETS: Four Moves Ahead $1,500 @ $4.80

RACE SEVEN

Champion mare Verry Elleegant landed plenty of big bets and multis after saluting in the George Main Stakes (1600 metres).

Going around with 64 percent of the total investment, Verry Elleegant was one of the best tried runners across the country and went $1.90-$1.75 after rain briefly hit the Randwick track.

Think It Over ($4.60-$5-$4.80) was best backed of the others while Cascadian ($11-$14-$10) attracted some handy eachway bets after peaking at $14.

BETS: Verry Elleegant $8,000 @ $2, $15,000 @ $1.90, $6,000 @ $1.90, $5,000 @ $1.90, $10,000 @ $1.75, $4,550 @ $1.75, $4,000 @ $1.75 MULTIPLE TIMES

RACE EIGHT

Eduardo overpowered the heavily tried Nature Strip in the Bowermans Commercial Furniture Shorts (1100 metres).

Joe Pride’s stable star opened the day at $8 and bottomed out at $5.50 off the back of constant support throughout the day. Eventually he jumped a $6 chance, putting him on the third line of betting behind Nature Strip and Masked Crusader ($4.80-$6-$5.50).

Nature Strip ($2.30-$2-$2.10) held nearly four times as much as Masked Crusader and a bit over four times more than Eduardo.

BETS: Eduardo $1,000 e/w @ $6.50/$1.80, $1,000 e/w @ $6/$1.75, $1,000 @ $6 MULTIPLE TIMES, $2,000 @ $5.50

BETS: Nature Strip $2,053 @ $2, $2,000 @ $2, $1,000 @ $2 MULTIPLE TIMES

BETS: Lost And Running $5,000 @ $9

BETS: Gytrash $1,000 @ $10

RACE NINE

The popular pick all week ended up doing the job in the TAB Kingston Town Stakes (2000 metres).

She’s Ideel ($3.40-$2.90-$2.70) had good support ever since the market first opened on Wednesday. At that point, $4.60 was being offered.

Today, she went around as the most popular runner by far in front of Montefilia ($4.40-$5) with those two the only ones holding six figures.

Shared Ambition ($10-$7) was a notable firmer throughout the day.

BETS: She’s Ideel $15,000 @ $2.80, $2,000 @ $2.80

BETS: Shared Ambition $4,000 e/w @ $6.50/$2.10

BETS: Fun Fact $2,500 @ $14

BETS: Kukeracha $1,000 x $2,000 e/w @ $15/$3.70

CAULFIELD

RACE THREE

One of the roughies of the field arrived in time to land the Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400 metres).

Bon’s A Pearla ($34-$26-$31) was largely ignored by TAB punters as they focused on Heresy ($2.60-$3.60), who despite drifting, was easily the most popular runner. The Godolphin filly held 35 percent of the total investment.

Morioka ($6.50-$5.50) and Devout Hero ($6-$8-$7) were next best supported.

BETS: Elusive Express $3,000 e/w @ $12/$3.30

BETS: Morioka $3,000 x $2,000 e/w @ $5.50/$2

RACE FOUR

Lightsaber landed some nice bets in proving too tough in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400 metres).

The Peter Moody-trained colt started the day at $6.50 but by the time the race rolled around, TAB were offering $4.80. Only Alpine Edge ($4.60) held slightly more money than the winner.

Of the rest, Timson ($7-$6.50) had plenty of eachway money riding on it while Brigantine ($7-$6.50) and Athelric ($9.50) had their admirers.

BETS: Lightsaber $5,000 @ $4.80, $2,500 @ $4.60

BETS: Athelric $5,000 e/w @ $9/$2.60

RACE SIX

One of the ‘good things’ of the day did the right thing by punters when leading throughout in the Living Legends Handicap (1400 metres).

TAB went up $3.60 on Wednesday which was quickly snapped up. Today, $2.15 was the price in the morning and it bottomed out at $2.10 before jumping $2.20.

Commanding 60 percent of the money, Annavisto led throughout to land plenty of big bets and multis.

BETS: Annavisto $3,000 @ $2.20 TWICE, $2,600 @ $2.20, $2,000 @ $2.20 MULTIPLE TIMES, $5,133 @ $2.15, $2,000 @ $2.15 MULTIPLE TIMES, $2,500 @ $2

RACE SEVEN

Nonconformist was a popular result with TAB customers in the Catanach’s Jewellers MRC Foundation Cup (2000 metres).

TAB went up $5.50 on Wednesday and the price was taken pretty much straight away. This morning, $4.20 was on the table but such was the popularity of the gelding that he bottomed out at xxx. Eventually, a late drift saw $4.60 being offered at the jump.

He held the most money along with Tralee Rose ($6-$4.80) with the pair responsible for 48 percent of the total investment.

Of the others, Delphi ($8.50-$7.50-$8) was solid and had some eachway support while Amade ($16-$10-$12) was the big firmer all week after opening at $26.

BETS: Nonconformist $3,500 @ $4.40, $2,000 @ $4.40, $1,400 @ $4.20

BETS: Grand Promenade $1,000 x $3,000 e/w @ $9.50/$3.10

BETS: Tralee Rose $6,000 @ $6

BETS: Amade $2,000 @ $11

RACE EIGHT

Sierra Sue arrived in time to give Daniel Moor his first Group One and in the process, upset the big move for I’m Thunderstruck in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400 metres).

The Trent Busstin & Natalie Young-trained mare was $15 when markets were first released and today, hovered around the $11-$12 mark before jumping at the former.

She was the fifth most popular horse in terms of money held behind the four that topped six figures at TAB Fixed Odds – Probabeel ($4.80), Behemoth ($6.50-$8-$7), Beau Rossa ($5.50-$8.50-$7.50) and the big mover I’m Thunderstruck ($8-$4.40).

BETS: Sierra Sue $1,300 @ $10

BETS: Im Thunderstruck $6,500 @ $4.40

BETS: Beau Rossa $3,000 @ $7
