ROSEHILL

RACE ONE

Silent Impact was pretty solid throughout the week heading into the Elite Sand & Soil Handicap (1200 metres).

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott runner opened at $10 on Wednesday but today was hovering around the $6.50-$7 mark.

Most of the money here was with Military Expert ($3.20-$2.90). He was three times as popular as the next best supported runner in King Of Sparta ($4.80-$7).

BETS: Silent Impact $500 x $1,500 e/w @ $7/$2.30

BETS: Military Expert $1,600 @ $3, $5,000 @ $2.80, $3,000 @ $2.80

RACE TWO

The constant specking for So Say You was on the mark in the TAB Highway Class 3 Plate (1500 metres).

Opening the day at $14, it bottomed out at $11 before starting a $12 chance but although it was a firmer it definitely wasn’t one of the more popular gallopers.

Dream Runner held the most money (approximately a quarter of the total investment) but after shortening into $3, blew late to jump $4.

Zoo Station ($4.80) and Tags ($10) were the next best backed.

RACE FOUR

The move for Chat was on the money after he arrived in time to knock off All Time Legend in the Hyland Race Colours July Sprint (1100 metres).

John Thompson’s runner went $6.50-$4.40 on the day in what was a fairly confident push against All Time Legend, which on the flipside, went $1.80-$2.50-$2.20.

In terms of the hold though it was a no contest – All Time Legend holding more than five times the amount of money.

BETS: All Time Legend $1,500 @ $2.30, $2,000 @ $2.25, $3,000 @ $2.20

RACE FIVE

RACE SIX

There was confidence all week about Starla for the City Tattersalls Club Handicap (1200 metres).

Going around as the most popular horse in terms of money held, Starla opened $8 on Wednesday but today firmed from $4.40-$3.60.

The Chris Waller mare was the only one to hold six figures with TAB Fixed Odds and was responsible for nearly a third of the money.

BETS: Starla $3,000 @ $3.50 TWICE, $2,000 @ $3.40

RACE SEVEN

Order Again proved to be a popular result for TAB customers in the XXXX Winter Challenge (1500 metres).

Ridden by Hugh Bowman, Order Again was actually the most popular runner in terms of money held in front of Countofmontecristo ($6-$5) but there was very little separating them.

Order Again ($6-$8-$7) had good eachway support riding on it as did Ziegfeld ($5-$5.50), True Detective ($5.50-$6.50) and Cisco Bay ($6.50-$5.50) while Sambro ($21-$17) was nibbled.

BETS: Order Again $1,000 @ $7

BETS: Countofmontecristo $5,000 @ $5, $4,000 @ $5

RACE EIGHT

Ashim proved very costly for its backers in the Midway Handicap (1500 metres).

The $2.90 favourite was one of the most popular horses all day and was carrying the hopes of many a multi going into the eighth event.

In the end, $23 shot Casino Mondial ($26-$19-$23) proved too good in a driving finish from the second elect, Arctic Thunder ($3.60-$4).

Of the rest there was an interesting push for Salsonic ($16-$9).

BETS: Ashim $3,000 @ $3, $2,000 @ $2.90

RACE NINE

There was money around all afternoon for Cuban Royale in The Agency Real Estate Handicap (1200 metres).

Robert & Luke Price’s six-year-old was backed from $12-$8.50 to land a nice betting move, beating He’s A Hotshot ($8-$7) who very nearly did the same thing after attracting strong support also.

While the pair were noted movers in the market, Smart Image ($4.60-$3.50) very nearly came into favouritism over Tycoonist ($2.50-$3.10) but was never in it.

BETS: Cuban Royale $2,000 @ $8.50

RACE TEN

N/A

CAULFIELD

RACE TWO

King Magnus was a losing result for TAB in the MRC Member Alan Yates Handicap (1400 metres).

Going around as the second most popular galloper in the race behind Great Again ($3.20-$3.90), King Magnus was responsible for 24 percent of the money.

BETS: King Magnus $2,500 @ $4.20, $1,500 @ $4

RACE FIVE

There was a bit of money around to suggest Wicklow Town would run a good race at odds in the MRC Member Linda Leo Handicap (1400 metres).

Starting the day as a $21 chance, Wicklow Town bottomed out at $14 but would eventually jump as a $17 shot. Bily Egan got the best out of the gelding to beat Just Folk ($14) and Scantoon ($6).  And Beyond was the most popular runner at $5.

BETS: Wicklow Town $1,000 e/w @ $16/$4.20, $1,000 e/w @ $15/$4.20

RACE SEVEN

Sacred Palace had been specked all week for this race.

The Lindsey Smith galloper was $6.50 when markets opened on Wednesday and although getting out to $9.50 today, still had consistent support all the way through betting.

The Big Easy ($4.40-$6) drifted but was easily the most popular runner. In fact, he was twice as popular as The Garden ($6.50-$4.40) which saw its price tumble throughout the afternoon.

Stripped Back ($6.50-$4.40) was the other one that was a noted firmer.

BETS: Sacred Palace $1,000 e/w @ $8.50/$2.80

RACE EIGHT

Sansom was largely overshadowed by a number of his rivals when it came to the betting for the Bletchingly Stakes (1200 metres).

Viridine ($4.80-$5.50) went around holding the most money in front of Order Of Command ($9.50-$13), with Isaurian ($6.50) and The Astrologist ($6-$7) next best.

Sansom was $11-$16 before starting $15 on the day.

BETS: Sansom $500 e/w @ $15/$4

BETS: Streets Of Avalon $6,000 @ $6.50

RACE NINE

Awapuni Princess landed a long priced move when flashing home in the MRC Membership Renewal Handicap (1200 metres).

The Team Freedman runner was backed in from $34 at the start of the day and bottomed out at $18. She would eventually jump at $21.

BETS: Awapuni Princess, $1,200 @ $31, $500 @ $26
