FUTURES

THE KOSCIUSZKO

Man Of Peace $26-$15 (after winning r3 @ Randwick)

Niccirose inserted at $26 (after winning the TAB Highway @ Randwick)

RANDWICK

RACE ONE

A handy little move late in betting paid off in the running of the Industry Celebration Race Day Handicap (1300 metres).

Not Feint Hearted was tried from $12-$8.50 with the move only coming in the final half hour or so.

The Gary Portelli-trained runner exploded in the straight to race away easily under Kathy O’Hara after sitting fourth in the run.

Badoosh ($6-$5.50) wound up a distant second while Girls Are Ready ($23-$17) added spice to the exotics.

Syncline ($3.60-$4.60) was the most popular runner just in front of Bazooka ($3.90-$4.80) and Badoosh.

BETS: Bazooka $1,000 @ $4.80, $3,000 @ $4.40

BETS: Badoosh $1,500 @ $5.50

BETS: Lubuk $1,000 @ $7

BETS: Syncline $1,000 @ $4.20

RACE TWO

Niccirose led throughout for an effortless win in the TAB Highway Class 3 Handicap (1200 metres).

TAB offered as much as $11 about Niccirose when markets opened on Wednesday, and the Scott Singleton runner was one of the first backed.

Today, the son of Nicconi hovered around the $8.50-$9.50 mark before jumping at the latter quote.

Taken straight to the front by Billy Cray, the pair never looked in any danger of defeat.

Mr Magical ($3.70-$3.20-$3.70) was easily the most popular and held nearly half the total investment in the race.

Northern Wilderose ($9-$8) attracted some good eachway support and was second most popular.

BETS: Niccirose $1,000 @ $9.50

BETS: Mr Magical $2,500 @ $3.70, $1,000 @ $3.20

RACE THREE

Man Of Peace had his share of admirers in the ATC Thank You Jockeys Handicap (1300 metres).

The Matty Dale runner jumped at $7.50 and although attracting some good support, held just a fraction of what the favourite Kordia did.

Kordia ($1.85-$1.95) was five times as popular as anything else and commanded 60 percent of the total investment.

You Make Me Smile ($4.80-$5.50) was the only other runner to have decent support.

BETS: Kordia $5,000 @ $1.95 TWICE, $2,470 @ $1.95, $2,150 @ $1.95, $2,000 @ $1.95 MULTIPLE TIMES, $1,900 @ $1.95, $1,000 @ $1.95 MULTIPLE TIMES, $50,350 @ $1.90, $1,000 @ $1.85 MULTIPLE TIMES, $4,330 @ $1.80 TWICE, $1,000 @ $1.75, $8,660 @ $1.28 PLACE

RACE FOUR

De Grawin made it another leader home for the afternoon at Randwick, giving Louise Day a running double.

The Joe Pride runner was specked at eachway odds and jumped a $10 chance after being $15 on Wednesday.

Fighting off Fanciful Dream ($7.50-$9) in a stirring finish, the pair cleared out from their rivals with Sweeping Statement ($11) grabbing third after tracking out to the grandstand side of the track.

Punters were sent packing through as Emanate ($3.10) jumped one of the most popular runners on the day. The Godolphin runner held approximately 50 percent of the total investment and was over four times as popular as the next best backed which was Escaped ($3.80-$5.50).

Of the rest, Mr Polar ($23-$9.50) was a decent trim up throughout the afternoon.

BETS: Emanate $1,000 @ $3.20, $20,000 @ $3.10, $2,000 @ $3.10 TWICE, $1,500 @ $3.10, $1,000 @ $3.10, $1,000 @ $2.90

BETS: Look Only $2,500 x $1,500 e/w @ $15/$3.60

BETS: Karaja $1,000 @ $5.50

RACE FIVE

Chris Waller-trained horses dominated the finish here with Adana getting the better of Word For Word.

Adana ($8-$8.50-$7.50-$7) was the least popular of the five runners with Derbari ($2.50) going around just under half the total investment.

Word For Word ($2.90-$4) nearly defied the betting drift to land the money.

Mercurial Lad ($19-$8-$6) was a significant firmer but dropped out after leading.

BETS: Adana $2,750 @ $8

BETS: Derbari $2,350 @ $2.50, $2,000 @ $2.50, $5,000 @ $2.40

BETS: Word For Word $1,300 @ $4

BETS: Mercurial Lad $1,000 @ $6.50 TWICE, $1,000 @ $6

RACE SIX

Kiss The Bride defied a huge betting drift to land the money in the NSWROA Trophy Handicap (1800 metres).

Bjorn Baker’s talented gelding was an even money favourite in the morning but blew out to $3.60 by the time the race rolled around.

Monsieur Sisu, which led and ran a mighty race for second, was backed from $9-$5.50 to beat it.

Orcein ($4.60-$4-$4.20) held a number of large investments and was easily best tried outside the winner.

BETS: Black Magnum $2,000 @ $3.70, $2,000 @ $3.50

BETS: Orcein $1,000 @ $4.20 MULTIPLE TIMES, $2,000 @ $4, $1,892 @ $4, $6,000 @ $1.65 PLACE

RACE SEVEN

Inanup was another runner who defied the betting drift at Randwick.

The Jarrod Austin-trained galloper went $3.80-$5 on the day despite holding some serious coin. In fact, only the heavily backed Black Magnum ($4-$2.70 fav) was responsible for more money.

Of the rest, Sangria ($3.80) had a few admirers. The trio were well and truly the ones that TAB customers wanted to be on.

BETS: Inanup $1,000 @ $5

BETS: Black Magnum $1,000 @ $2.80 MULTIPLE TIMES, $1,500 @ $2.70, $1,728 @ $2.70, $1,000 @ $2.70 MULTIPLE TIMES

BETS: Sangria $1,500 @ $3.80, $5,000 @ $3.70

BETS: Kiss The Bride $4,000 @ $3.20, $1,000 @ $2.50

RACE EIGHT

Punters were getting desperate heading into the eighth event but Fulmina delivered.

Ridden patiently by Tom Sherry, Fulmina ($2.80-$2.50) was the subject of strong backing throughout the day and held five times as much money as anything else.

The pair pounced on the lead soon after straightening and raced clearly shortly after. It was Sherry’s first metro winner.

Diamonds And Rust ($17-$8.50-$10) was the best of the firmers and actually held more money than the rest of the field outside the winner. Le Lude ($9.50-$7) also had admirers along with Savigne ($14-$8).

BETS: Fulmina $4,000 @ $2.70, $2,000 @ $2.70 TWICE, $3,60 @ $2.50, $2,000 @ $2.50, $1,000 @ $2.50 MULTIPLE TIMES

BETS: Monegal $2,000 @ $9

BETS: Savigne $1,600 @ $8, $1,000 @ $8

RACE NINE

The ATC Thank You Owners Handicap (1400 metres) was a very open affair with a number of horses backed.

In the end, it was Off Shaw ($4.40-$4.60) which proved superior to hold off the finishing burst of Charretera ($4.60) which was the second most popular runner in the race.

The popularity stakes were taken out by Steel Diamond ($3.50-$3.70) which held just under a quarter of the total investment. Miss Redoble was specked at eachway odds before starting a $10 chance.

BETS: Off Shaw $2,000 @ $5.50, $1,000 @ $5 TWICE, $3,000 @ $4.60

BETS: Miss Redoble $4,000 x $1,000 e/w @ $9.50/$2.60

MOONEE VALLEY

RACE ONE

The market was spot in the Support Living Legends Horses’ Birthday Handicap (1600 metres).

Victoria Star was a big drifter and went $1.80 out to $2.50 and although retaining favouritism, didn’t hold that much more than Al Galayel ($3.50).

Vassilator ($5-$4.20) was the only other runner to have attracted serious money while Prince Ziggy ($14-$8) and Admire Winner ($31-$17) were specked at odds.

BETS: Al Galayel $2,000 @ $3.50, $1,000 @ $3.50, $2,000 @ $3.40, $1,000 @ $3.40

BETS: Victoria Star $2,000 @ $2.50 MULTIPLE TIMES, $1,500 @ $2.50 MULTIPLE TIMES, $1,300 @ $2.50, $1,000 @ $2.50 MULTIPLE TIMES

BETS: Vassilator $1,000 @ $4.20 TWICE

RACE TWO

Hard Landing was too strong in the Jockey Celebration Day Handicap (1000 metres), much to the delight of its backers.

The colt was one of the significant firmers in the race, backed from $5.50 in the morning into $4.60. Such was the weight of support for the Tom Dabernig & Ben Hayes runner that it was the most popular in the race.

Diesel ‘n’ Dust held some big money as did Theresabearinthere ($2.30-$3.60).

BETS: Hard Landing $1,000 @ $4.60 MULTIPLE TIMES, $1,240 @ $4.40, $1,000 @ $4.40

BETS: Diesel ‘n’ Dust $10,000 @ $5

RACE FOUR

It was a big upset in the Andrew Gilbert & Gavin Lisk Handicap (1000 metres) when Miss Divine Em finished best to salute at big odds.

Miss Divine Em ($15-$21) had some support at the juicy odds but was mainly a drifter in betting.

Billy Egan weaved a passage through a wall of horses late to get the result for trainer Patrick Payne.

Most of the attention here focused on Peggy Selene ($3.40-$3.20) and Clean Machine ($5-$4.20) which commanded well over half the market between them.

BETS: Peggy Selene $9,500 @ $3.20, $2,000 @ $3.20 TWICE, $1,000 @ $3.20 MULTIPLE TIMES

BETS: Clean Machine $1,000 @ $4.20 MULTIPLE TIMES, $1,000 x $1,200 e/w @ $4.20/$1.70

RACE FOUR

Punters were finally able to get a favourite home thanks to Brooklyn Hustle in the Remembering Mark Goring & Adrian Ledger Handicap (1000 metres).

The Jason Warren-trained runner was the most popular runner across Australia today, holding more money than anything else.

Holding over three times as much money as second elect Propelle ($5.50), Brooklyn Hustle landed a number of big bets and multis after a patient ride by Dwayne Dunn. The pair ran up behind the leader before barging into the clear on straightening, sprinting sharply to score easily over Propelle and A Good Yarn ($6.50-$8).

BETS: Brooklyn Hustle $5,000 @ $2.50, $1,000 @ $2.50, $2,500 @ $2.30, $2,130 @ $2.30, $2,000 @ $2.30, $28,500 @ $2.25, $5,000 @ $2.25, $3,000 @ $2.25, $2,800 @ $2.25, $2,500 @ $2.25, $2,000 @ $2.25, $1,000 @ $2.25 MULTIPLE TIMES, $1,000 @ $2.20 MULTIPLE TIMES

RACE FIVE

RACE SIX

Dexelation was a blowout result for punters Remembering Mikaela Claridge & Melanie Tyndall Handicap (1200 metres).

Wilmot Pass ($2.30) was backed from $2.50-$2.30 on the day and went around holding almost as much money as Brooklyn Hustle in race four.

Despite the heavy backing, Wilmot Pass couldn’t deliver the goods while it was Dexelation ($13-$18) that got up at big odds.

BETS: Wilmot Pass $4,000 @ $2.50, $2,100 @ $2.50, $2,000 @ $2.50, $1,850 @ $2.50, $1,300 @ $2.50, $1,000 @ $2.50, $2,160 @ $2.40

BETS: Condo’s Express $2,500 @ $5

RACE SEVEN

The two best tried runners fought out the finish of the Vale Rob Gaylard Handicap (2040 metres).

Mahamedeis ($5-$4.60) was very popular late while Polly Grey ($3.80) easily held more money than anything else.

Of the rest, Savaheat ($19-$15) was tried at a price.

BETS: Mahamedeis $1,700 @ $4.80, $1,000 @ $4.80, $1,000 @ $4.60

BETS: Polly Grey $4,000 x $1,000 e/w @ $4/$1.70, $3,000 @ $3.80, $2,000 @ $3.80, $1,825 @ $3.80, $1,000 @ $3.80 MULTIPLE TIMES

RACE EIGHT

RACE NINE

It was rough way to end the afternoon at Moonee Valley when Melodeon arrived in time to knock out Proper Rogue in the Chandler Macleod Handicap (1200 metres).

The Charlotte Littlefield-trained galloper was the subject of eachway specking throughout the day but went $14-$17.

Proper Rogue ($3.40-$4.80) nearly defied the drift but was nailed right on the line.

Although popular, Proper Rogue held nothing compared to the favourite Hypersonic ($2.50) which went around with more than double the amount of money.

BETS: Proper Rogue $2,000 @ $4.80, $1,500 e/w @ $4.80/$1.80, $1,000 @ $4.80
