Tatura
$100 Win Manhattan Whirl R3 @ $4.4 (Sportsbet)
Tatura Overview: The stable is batting at near 25% when going to these outer country Victorian tracks and I think that good strike rate can continue via this first starter. Manhattan Rain filly who had a jumpout a couple of Fridays back at Flemington and I loved the way she moved, leading all the way and when shaken up, the response was instant, which is a good sign for a juvenile, and the time was okay relative to the morning. That was her second jumpout for the prep, so she’s been given a decent enough grounding. The raced brigade, off what I’ve seen, look limited, and of the first starters, she looks the number one seed.
Muswellbrook
$40 Win Nostre Re R6 @ $2.9 (TAB)
$20 Win/$40 Place Twelfth Raj R7 @ $9/$2.6 (Sportsbet)
Muswellbrook Overview:
Two I like at the Brook. Want to be very forgiving of Nostre Re and his failure at Gosford last start. He got back in the run in a race where the leader Manly Cove steadied up between the 800m-400m, leaving those from the back with a near impossible task, including this bloke. Back to country grade on his home track, keen on him bouncing back. He’s a beauty is Twelfth Raj and I think he’ll only run well in the seventh. He was enormous in defeat at Port Macquarie last time, taking off from last, sitting three and four wide for the trip and still found the line to run second to Toast. He can sit much closer in the run from the good draw and if we get a rain affected track, that will be no issue for him and each at $9, he’s a good gamble.
