A punter with the TAB is extremely confident that The Bostonian will capture the TAB Queensland Winter Racing Carnival Group 1 sprint treble in the TAB Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
This morning, the customer in question placed $10,000 at $6 on the winner of the TAB Doomben 10,000 on May 11 and the TAB Kingsford-Smith Cup at Eagle Farm on May 25.
Just over an hour ago, the punter returned with another $8,000 at $5 on The Bostonian for a potential overall collect of $100,000.
“The Tony Pike-trained gelding has continued his love affair with Queensland racing this campaign after taking out the Listed Daybreak Lover (June 10) and Group 3 Sunshine Coast Guineas (June 30) last year,” TAB’s Trent Langskaill said.
“The Bostonian was a $51 outsider with TAB Fixed Odds when victorious in the TAB Doomben 10,000 before starting an $11 chance in the TAB Kingsford-Smith Cup.”
The Bostonian opened $34 for the TAB Stradbroke Handicap when nominations were announced on April 30 but after winning consecutive Group 1 races, he will not surprise punters if successful at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
