Wyong Overview:
The Parlay sees four genuine winning chances IMO. So Yummy debuts for Mark Newnham and has looked good at the trials. Impurity is bursting to win a maiden and I think she gets a golden chance in the third. Price gap between Costas and Guest is far too great and the latter is value IMO. Romalette didn’t do much on debut at Hawkesbury but doesn’t need to be a world beater. Happy Bubbles has shown glimpses of talent and finds a race to find that again. Think he’ll get to $10+ and is worth something on. The value bet of the day is clearly Another Larga. Had no luck first up at Gosford (Metro) nearer the inside where I thought he was making up ground. Can see him starting $30+ and on a track he loves, he could well be a blowout.
Wangaratta
$100 Win Roofrax R2 @ $5 (TAB)
Wangaratta Overview: I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t start fav. Jamie Mott just had to drag back from the wide gate at Kyneton, then when the sprint went on, he had to chase a fair way from home and that told late as he got the staggers, with Jennibeel holding him to the line and through it. I think gate one now, Roofrax can sit much closer in the run and perhaps sit in front of Jennibeel in the run. Can’t get them that far apart in the market and the $5 is more than acceptable.
Pakenham
$40 Win/$60 Place Prince Alby R7 (Tote)
Pakenham Overview:
I think Prince Alby is certainly worth a bet first up. Handy stayer for Charlotte Littlefield who hasn’t raced since the Spring where the highlight was a strong win over 2400m on Geelong Cup Day. He’s had a couple of solid jumpouts in readiness for his return, the latest on April 15 over 1200m at Cranbourne when working home well under riding. Tricky race with a bit of depth, but like him fresh at the mile, gets the claim for Stockdale and for mine is the value.
Ipswich
$100 Win Buck Bay R7 @ $3.3 (TAB)
Ipswich Overview:
The best version of Buck Bay is much better than anything else engaged here and anything over $3 is fine with me. Far too good for them first up in a good form race at Doomben before racing there again where he pulled up with heat stress behind Bold Endeavour. Top of 26 tomorrow, so don’t think heat will be an issue. Big tick for him is the wet track, because he’s a swimmer and does seem to race best when having fresh legs. He can be hit and miss at times, but with his best, he should prove too good for this lot IMO.
