The Joe Pride-trained five-year-old daughter of Choisir had beaten reigning Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy by 4-1/2 lengths in heavy conditions in the Group One Myer Classic (1600m) at Flemington in the spring and again revelled in the going on Saturday.

Jockey Tim Clark got her across quickly from her wide draw and Sacred Choice was poised to strike in fourth place rounding the turn.

She unleashed an outstanding turn of foot down the centre of the track in the straight to beat Love Conquers All and Bold Glance.

It was her ninth win from 30 starts which have also yielded nine placings for prizemoney approaching $2 million.

“She’s just a great wet-tracker,” Clark said.

“I was confident before the rain came but when it came it made her a better thing.

“Words can’t describe how excited I am, I’m over the moon.”

Pride was understandably rapt with Sacred Choice’s performance.

“It was a fantastic effort,” he said.

“I’m really proud of this mare.

“We had a very deliberate plan to give her a month between runs and it’s paid off.

“She’s got a massive heart, she’s a great race mare.”
