One of the feature races at Rosehill this Saturday is the Sheraco Stakes (1200m), with Everest starter Joliestar a clear favourite.
Down below is a speed map, runner preview and $100 betting strategy for the 2025 Sheraco Stakes.
2025 Sheraco Stakes Runner Preview:
1. Stefi Magnetica: Not sure she is here to play. Gun mare when right but the trial work, while encouraging, suggests she may need the run and the wide barrier means she’ll have to give them a start and a beating…can’t see her doing that.
2. Joliestar: Joliestar is a class mare for Chris Waller that resumes, having not raced since the Kingsford Smith Cup when producing a brilliant finale from off speed to finish best. Good test here fresh at 1200m with the big weight but her trials have been great and is the clear class runner.
3. Manaal: I thought she was very plain in the Cockram and this is only harder. Can’t see her measuring up.
4. Ameena: Was down to resume three weeks ago but was scratched and had another trial. Looked pretty good and while I am a fan of her, I don’t quite think she is up to these.
5. Semana: Why hasn’t she been retired? Has looked cast for 6-12 months and the trials indicate as much.
6. Spicy Martini: She hasn’t done enough for me to say she’ll measure up against these. Goes through to the keeper.
7. Lilac: Has the Lady Shenandoah form, which always has to be respected, and ended last prep on a high. Trial work has been strong, kind map…one for exotics.
8. Gangsta Granny: Gangsta Granny for me. She resumed with an absolute bang in the Toy Show three weeks ago. She led and gave a very strong kick from the front but she couldn’t hold out Autumn Glow, with a gap to third. If she runs up to that effort here, she will take a power of beating.
9. Dark Glitter: Eye catching return two weeks ago. Flying, but needs it easier.

I think Lilac could hold the lead if they want to. Being first up, do they want to do that or opt for cover. If it is the latter option, Gangsta Granny should find the top, with Spicy Martini not far away. The interesting pair are Stefi Magnetica and Joliestar…I think they’ll take their medicine and go back.
