We all know the exploits of the great Irishman Aidan O’Brien.
Not only is he seemingly without peer as a trainer of race horses, he has raised a family of champion thoroughbred people too.
His son, Joseph, as we know just won the Melbourne Cup for the second time.
But with all his successes, and all his accolades, the great man himself Aidan, has not ever won the Cup.
And he must be ready to kick the cat today too – not just because he lost the Cup to his son, but because he just can’t win a race here.
So far this spring, Aidan O’Brien has had runners in all the three Majors in Australia: the Gr 1 Caulfield Cup – Gr 1 WS Cox Plate and the Gr 1 Melbourne Cup. And all his horses have run very, very well.
But without winning and have a look at the reason he must think the universe is against him.
