Bob Peters owned Galaxy Star is a firming favourite following the barrier draw for Saturday’s Group 1 Railway Stakes.
Galaxy Star had her priced moved from $3.50 into $3.20 after drawing nicely in gate two.
Galaxy Star was a $15 chance when initial markets were posted and has never missed a place in 12 career starts including nine wins.
“Punters love backing William Pike aboard Peters runners, especially when the runner has much class as Galaxy Star,” said TAB’s Nick Quinn.
There will be a strong eastern state presence in the race with Darren Weir saddling up leading chances Peaceful State and Iconoclasm.
There has been support for 2016 VRC Derby winner Priced Icon to break his long run of outs.
Now trained by Kris Lees Prized Icon was $51 in early markets and is now into $13.
“One punter anticipates he’ll break his drought in the Railway Stakes with a bet of $1000 at $13,” said Quinn.
