I think he’s the one to beat, but do I want to take $2.40? Probably not, so I think take the tote and hopefully you’ll get better given the depth engaged. Debuted at Randwick and was very game in defeat behind a potential superstar in The Autumn Sun. Trials leading in have been quite good and Bowman on from a good draw, he’ll do me.

Bet Two- Each Way- Canterbury Race Four Number 2 Imanui:
Confident this horse runs well third up from a spell. He ran over the 1550m at Canterbury last time out where he was bailed away on the inside off a very slow tempo and the set up in the end was just awful. Draws to get clear running this time and the tempo should be more genuine. Happy to give him another chance.

Bet Three- Each Way- Canterbury Race Six Number 14 Nicof:
He’s silly odds. He can unleash a ripping finale and is proven in town so I’m happy to have something small on him provided he gets a run. He comes through the James Kirby during the Grafton Carnival where he just got too far back but he produced good late splits behind Just A Bullet. If they overdo it in front, look for him to be charging.

Bet Four- Win- Sandown Race Five Number 9 Our Regal Warrior:
$2.30 is more than acceptable for a horse who should be clearly odds on. Resumption on the Geelong Synthetic was just simply outstanding. Led all the way, bolted in and smashed the clock despite barely being touched by Dean Holland. If he can translate anything similar to that here, he’ll be winning.

Bet Five- Win- Sandown Race Seven Number 2 Another Coldie:
Looks a lovely race for this Weir gelding. Ran over 1700m at Caulfield last time where I thought Lane gave the horse every chance but was just beaten by two better horses in Guizot and Mantastic. That’s the A1 form for this kind of race and with the claim for Ethan Brown, gee he looks well placed to get back into the winners list.
