Apprentice Luke Tarrant continued his quest for redemption with another winner on a pick up ride at Doomben on Wednesday.

Tarrant returned to race riding on August 5 after a four-week suspension and has ridden a winner at every metropolitan meeting since.

The suspension meted out for reckless riding finished any hope Tarrant had of winning the Brisbane senior jockeys premiership and he eventually finished second to Jim Byrne.

Tarrant was upset by the widespread publicity surrounding the suspension which arose out of the Grand Prix Stakes at Doomben in May.

However, Tarrant said he was looking forward and not back.

“The main thing is for me to stay out of the stewards room and ride winners,” Tarrant said.

Tarrant picked up the winning ride on Locks Legend when Paul Hammersley could not make the weight.

Locks Legend a heavily backed $2.30 favourite, went on to score an impressive 2-1/2 length win in the Our Place Bar Hcp (1615m).

Tarrant also picked up a winning ride on Grenache on Saturday after apprentice Ruby Ride was ruled out with injury.

Jockey Tegan Harrison continued her perfect start to the new season for trainer Tony Gollan when Epsilon ($13) won the XXXX Hcp (1110m).

Harrison has had five new season rides for Gollan recording five wins – an Ipswich double last Friday, a Doomben double last Saturday and Epsilon’s win.

Epsilon had been well beaten at her two previous starts at Ipswich but Gollan made sweeping changes to her raceday gear.

“I put blinkers and a crossover noseband on her for the first time and took the bit lifter off her.”

“Also I don’t think she likes Ipswich and she was able to lead today,” Gollan said.

Harrison said Epsilon had jumped well and had been able to dictate the race from then on.

Newcastle trainer Kris Lees continued his successful Brisbane raids when Raido ($3) won the Espresso Martini Di Bella Hcp (1110m).

Lees, who leaves for Chicago on Thursday to inspect Goldstream as a possible import for the Cox Plate, was not at Doomben.

Classy three-year-old Tibrogargan Miss ($4.60) also returned to her best form with a change of race gear to win the Town and Country Plasterboard Hcp (1050m).

The filly, who competed in Sydney during the autumn was well beaten first up at Toowoomba on July 25.
