Peter Moody supporters are expecting a huge first-up performance from new stable addition Ready To Rip at Flemington on Saturday.
Ready To Rip has been backed from $10 to $3.30 favourite with TAB Sportsbet to win the Listed All Victorian Sprint Series Final (1200m).
“Seventy-seven per cent of all investments on the race have been on Ready To Rip,” TAB Sportsbet’s Glenn Munsie said.
“It’s been a massive move.
“We’ve got more out of Ready To Rip than we are holding individually in 95 per cent of the races we are operating on tomorrow.”
Ready To Rip won five of his 17 starts in Queensland for trainer Andrew Williamson before making his way to Moody’s Caulfield stable.
His best stakes performance has been a close second in the Listed Lough Neagh Stakes (1350m) at Doomben in December.
Importantly, the four-year-old gelding has been unbeaten in three first-up attempts.
While the biggest move has been on Ready To Rip, there has also been strong support in the other feature races at Flemington with the Nigel Blackiston-trained Menados firming from $5 to $3.80 in the Listed Winter Championship Final (1600m).
“Fifty-five per cent of all investments have been on him in that race,” Munsie said.
Five-year-old mare Exceptionally has also been crunched in the Banjo Paterson Final (2600m).
After opening at $12, the 2010 VRC St Leger winner has firmed to $4.40, accounting for 54 per cent of all investments on the race.
