The best milers line up in a mouth watering clash with runners from all over the world including New Zealand’s Jimmy Choux. Last years winner Beauty Flash looks hard to beat with not much pace in the race and can easily control the race from the front.

Ultra consistent 5yo son of Selkirk who is a multiple Group 3 winner over the mile. Yet to win at the highest level and would need to find several lengths to threaten here.

One of the best mid distance horses in Australasia including 5 Group 1 wins which includes the NZ Derby and Rosehill Guineas. Finished runner up in the Cox Plate behind Pinker Pinker over 2040m and all reports about how he has settled in are very good. Top class racehorse who looks hard to beat.

Ran 4th in this race last year and is still yet to crack it for a win at the highest level but has placed twice from six attempts. Narrowly defeated Rio de La Plata at Group 2 level at Longchamp last time out over this trip and wouldn’t’t be surprised to see him run a nice 3rd or 4th.

BEAUTY FLASH (HK)
Defending champion aiming to go back to back and theres no reason why he won’t be hard to beat again. Tough on pacer who always gives backers a site and his form this time in has been similar. The level of pressure up front is the key and will look the winner half way down the straight.

XTENSION (HK)
Champions Mile (G1) winner who was heavily supported before he could only manage fifth in a bunched finish in the Group 2 Jockey Club Mile trial last time out. Seems to be peaking at the right time and although some of his rivals here beat him home last time he looks a safe each way prospect.

ABLE ONE (HK)
Sensationally scratched at the barriers in this race last year and his form this prep has been well below his best. He loomed in the straight but just peaked on his run 100m from home last start and is all the fitter for this assignment. If he can get a soft time in the lead with Beauty Flash then he will be awfully hard to run down.

FLYING BLUE (HK)
Started off his preperation with two very disappointing efforts but showed a glimpse of his best form last time out when he was spotted making good ground on the inside behind Destined For Glory when a 26-1 chance in the G2 Mile trial. Has to step up again and find a length or two to beat some of his more fancied rivals here but is in the hands of master trainer John Size so a forward showing will not surprise.

DESTINED FOR GLORY (HK)
The John Moore 4yo managed to weave through traffic to defeat crowd favourite Ambitious Dragon on the line last start in the G2 Mile trial in what was truly a special performance with a devastating turn of foot. Likes to be saved for the one run at them and if the breaks go his way he can finish all over the top of them again.

FAIR TRADE (HK)
Has had plenty of problems this horse but when everything goes right he has the potential to be one of the best horses in Hong Kong. 2nd up this prep he put in an eye catching effort when 5th to Destined For Glory when a 44-1 chance where he ran home well down the middle of the course. If he gets produced at the right time his turn of foot is good enough to put most of these away but is he at his best?

SICHUAN SUCCESS (HK)
Heading into this race third up sees him cherry ripe to run a good race after two encouraging runs back from a spell. Finished midfield behind Lucky Nine in the G1 Classic Mile earlier this year but is a talented young horse on the up.

Promised plenty as a youngster but has failed to deliver this time in. Failed behind Jacobee last start which is inferior form for a race of this nature. If he runs up to his best he can probably do no better than top 6.

Group 2 Celebration mile winner who also has a second to Frankel to his name. Another who is yet wo win a Group 1 and tipping he won’t get near it in this race.

Top class French mare who is a 3 time winner at the highest level including a third to Beauty Flash in this race last year when a 7-1 chance. Is best ridden just off the pace and with any luck she can win this.

APAPANE (JPN)
4 time Group 1 winning filly who defeated Japan Cup winner Buena Vista over a mile back in May this year in the G1 Victoria Mile at Tokyo. Can race handy which is a plus and sure to be one of the leading hopes.
