A comprehensive win in the Listed Show County Quality at Warwick Farm has laid the foundation for Moment Of Change to live up to his potential this spring.
Prepared out of premier Victorian Peter Moody’s Sydney satellite stable at Rosehill, Moment Of Change went into Saturday’s Listed 1200m feature as the $1.75 favourite and didn’t let his supporters down.
Under confident riding by Peter Robl he went to the line 1-1/4 lengths clear of Title ($8) with Somepin Anypin ($13) a neck third.
“He didn’t have a good preparation last time so it’s good to start off like this,” Moody’s Sydney stable representative Clare Cunningham said.
“There are a few options but the main goal here is the Epsom.
“Then possibly he could go to Melbourne for the Toorak Handicap and the Cox Plate if he gets that far.”
Robl said Moment Of Change was perfectly behaved throughout.
“He used to go a bit hard but he relaxed really well today,” he said.
“He is a horse with a lot of scope.”
Moment Of Change has won four of his seven starts and been placed in two with his worst effort a 12th in the Group One Randwick Guineas when he pulled hard much of the way.
He produced a confidence-boosting win at Caulfield after his Guineas failure before going for a spell.
