Lisa Cropp will make a low-key return from a skull fracture with two rides at Sale on Thursday.
Cropp has been sidelined since early December due to the injury suffered in New Zealand when a pony she was educating for her daughter fell on her.
The jockey suffered a small hairline fracture behind her left ear.
Cropp had been in great form since basing herself in Melbourne last spring, riding 16 winners from November until the time of her accident on December 7.
She rode trebles at Sandown and Kyneton in late November but hasn’t ridden since the Caulfield meeting on December 4.
Cropp has been engaged to ride the Stephen Hutchinson-trained King Of Pop in the Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate (1213m) and Zarjina in the Maiden Plate (1422m) for co-trainers Fran Houlahan and Brian Johnston.
A three-time winner of the New Zealand jockeys’ premiership, Cropp rode a record 197 winners in 2004-05.
