Victoria’s Spring Racing Carnival will welcome its first Japanese competitor in four years when grand stayer Tokai Trick arrives in Melbourne on Monday. When Japanese horses last competed in Australia, stablemates Delta Blues and Pop Rock recorded a memorable one-two finish in the 2006 Melbourne Cup. This followed countryman Eye Popper’s second placing in the Caulfield Cup 12 months prior.
