Trainer Mark Riley will front another Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board hearing on Thursday over Diablo Rosso’s returning a high bicarbonate reading.
Riley has pleaded guilty to a charge of presenting a horse to race with a banned substance in its system and will learn his penalty.
On December 20, the Mornington trainer beat a charge of having administered bicarb which was detected in a blood sample taken from Diablo Rosso before it ran at Bendigo in August.
As the RAD Board was not satisfied that Riley was guilty of administering or causing to be administered a prohibited substance, the charge was dismissed.
Riley said the only explanation for the high levels of bicarb he could offer was a batch of mouldy corn fed to the horses.
