Leading Epsom Handicap contender King’s Rose is in doubt for Saturday’s Group One race at Randwick.
The mare is undergoing tests at Peter Moody’s Melbourne stable after showing signs of tying up on Thursday morning.
The results of blood tests should be known by midday Thursday.
King’s Rose is a $10 chance in the Epsom with Sincero the reigning $4.60 favourite ahead of Pinker Pinker ($6).
The Randwick track was rated a slow (7) on Thursday after 56mm of rain since Saturday but the forecast for strong winds in Sydney should help to dry it out.
