Taree Race Two: Number Seven Rock Alert
This son of Fastnet Rock is on thin ice with the punters after two recent placings as a short priced favourite. No excuses last start over 1250m when beaten two lengths. Rises to 1400m which should suit him as will the class of his opposition. There isn’t much here to beat. He was good enough to run at Canterbury last preparation so the ability is there. Can he convert that ability to a win?
Taree Race Four: Number Four Jevali Lobban
Haven’t seen this mare race since July last year when beaten by the very handy galloper Zakynthos Imprintz at Newcastle when something was amiss because she was beaten 63.5 lengths! Looked outstanding in a recent barrier trial at Taree when winning by four and a half lengths in smart time. She has the aid of a 2kg claim for Belinda Hodder and a dry track which will help. If she brings that trial form to the races, she wins.
Taree Race Eight: Number Two Midnight At Ascot
Beautifully ridden by Corey Brown to win the Magic Millions Country Cup last start when poking through a narrow gap to catch Golden Gate late. Drops back to a benchmark 70 at Taree. Has to rise 4.5kg but he is a proven weight carrier and young Jake Hull is riding very well at the moment. This bloke looks the standout bet on the card.
