7 Favour The Bold (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is humming this time in for Rod Northam and is one of the hardest to beat after two starts/wins this time in, both coming at Scone when a first up winner over 1000m before jumping straight to 1300m and he was impressive. Back to 1200m is fine, hard fit, he appeals.

5 Social Circle (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a nice filly on the up for the Messara/Gavranich camp. She hasn’t raced since Oct 6 at Warwick Farm at the midweeks when fourth to to Miss Freelove in a pretty plain effort but it was a strong midweek race. Reads well for a Highway and a tick over trial was sharp.

1 Madrina (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has found winning form for Nick Olive and she can go on with it here. The win came at Kembla when on speed and was trucking before being clicked up and away she went to win and win well. Confidence is up, she appeals.

5 Motoscafo (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned well and is a key threat after a first up second two weeks ago in the Midway when off speed and worked home well enough late in the piece when second to impressive winner Oakfield Jupiter. Fitter and up in trip, she’ll take beating.

8 Clear Proof (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is in the mix. He ran behind Oakfield Jupiter two weeks back in the Midway. He got off speed and was never really a winning threat but he kept finding the line and was pretty good late. If within range, he has the finale to be dangerous.

4 Satness (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Team Price trained gelding that resumes, I dare say with eyes towards Gong Day. He hasn’t raced since July 12 at Randwick when off speed and struggled late in the piece behind Walking Dancing. Liked a recent trial win from him, watch betting.

2 Thebudgiesmugla (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be top seed here for Bjorn Baker. Dominant track/distance win at the midweeks, handling the track best and making a mess of them, getting better as the race went on. He’s in form, similar field re depth, he’s the one for me.

3 Captain Maverick (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is finding it hard to win but he’s racing really well at present. Attempted to lead throughout over 2100m at Warwick Farm last start and gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through, nabbed late by Sting In The Tail. Good racing style and should be around the mark.

1 Casino Bear (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a tough, tough campaigner. He was there to be beaten at Wyong last time but credit to him, he toughed it out and was just too good in the run to the line. Not sure he wins, but can run top four.

5 Shady Thinker (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Bain/Taylor trained gelding that resumed with a bang a few weeks ago at Morphettville. He was smashed in betting and was trucking before getting clear and drove hard late to win and win well. Good test here I think but confident he measures up.

1 Midnight Dynamite (Bet Now:  $SP.00) gave them an absolute spanking last Saturday at Randwick. Admittedly there were several that DNP in the run, but even allowing for that, he was impressive the way he put them away. Only has to hold that form and he’ll take beating once again.

6 Invader Zim (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Chris Waller trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Mat 17 during the Scone Carnival when down the track behind Stakes winning mare Oh Diamond Lil. Given a good break, home track for the return, watch betting.

2 Hurstville Zagreb (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned really well and is one of the hardest to beat after his spank job win at Warwick Farm where he led throughout and gave nothing else a look in to win impressively. Hard fit now, good racing style and the rise to 1800m is fine. Hard to beat.

5 Brave Call (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since racing over this trip at Eagle Farm where I don’t think he was given the best of steers by Mallyon and was never really a factor when fourth to Cavalry Man, beaten under a length. Big rider upgrade, returned well, in the mix.

3 Luskaire (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is flying for Team Archibald. He has won three on the bounce, the latest on the Kenso when leading throughout and despite being out of petrol tickets late, he had enough in hand to score. He’ll give a good account of himself from near the front.

5 Artemex (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an Exceed And Excel colt that is on debut for Ciaron Maher. He trialled last week at Warwick Farm and went very well I thought, albeit the margin was narrow. He moved quite well and ran good time for the morning. Keen to see how he goes.

3 Anthropoid (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should love the rise to 1100m after debuting over 1000m at Randwick when back in the run and was quite raw/new to the caper but he stayed on and kept finding the line in a pretty good effort at start one. Better for the run, he appeals.

11 Thrill Hunter… (Bet Now:  $SP.00) all you can do is win and that is what she did on debut at Randwick. The saddle slipped and Ash Morgan wasn’t able to ride her out properly but she found and was strong to the line in winning. How good is she? Not sure, but she commands repsect.

9 Bauhinia (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is humming for Team Curtis and I am keen on her. Thrown in the deep end last start in The Invitation and ran an absolute beauty in defeat when off speed and worked home strongly behind Stefi Magnetica. Only has to hold her form and she’s the winner IMO. Keen.

3 Miraval Rose (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to get front end control and from there, she’s very dangerous. Tried hard in the Tristarc last start but had no answers late for Abounding. Should get a soft time of it in front here and gets a hungry Nash to steer. Likeable here.

I know Uncle Chris has Via going around at Flemington but I reckon he’d be desperate as to see 4 Pounce (Bet Now:  $SP.00) run well here, even win. John Stewart has thrown him a bone or two in terms of horses and hasn’t quite fired. This girl has been nominated/accepted/scratched a few times but looks to have trialled really well and has solid US form. Watch betting.

9 Firestorm (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the seven day back up and steps up in trip after racing in the Empire Rose last Saturday where she was never beating Pride Of Jenni but didn’t mind the way she finished her race off in defeat. Hard horse to catch at times but brings the A1 form.

1 Transatlantic (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has to be given serious respect. He won the Prelude two weeks ago and looked the winner a long way out. Once he lobbed outside the speed, it was race over and he made a mess of them. Confidence is up, he has class…he’s a key threat.

7 Militarize (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is clearly likeable here. He comes through the Craven Plate where he was never beating stablemate Lindermann but he kept on and was good in defeat. He brings the A1 form, he is very well in here I say.

2 Weeping Woman (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a daughter of Lonhro that resumes for Joe Pride. Her last run came over 1400m here on June 28 when on speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch late behind Changing Colours. Fresh at 1100m I like and her trial work has been strong.

9 Strada Varenna (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a Bjorn Baker trained filly that resumes. This girl had a three run 2YO campaign where she was heading towards the Slipper but failed in the Kindergarten and was spelled. Given a good break and looks to have trialled up really well.

4 Couples Retreat (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing really well for Team Archibald, winning two from two. Latest win came at Kembla when sitting off speed before angling clear and finished best to score, showing nice change up speed. Good test here but think she can measure up.

Joao isn’t the rider he once was but he doesn’t need to be to get 9 Frosty Girl (Bet Now:  $SP.00) home. I think she would be a good thing in the Hot Danish so here in a moderate 78, gee she looks well placed. Resumed with a bang at Warwick Farm, not beating much but she made a mess of them. Keen to see her again. Stakes winner in waiting.

3 Formal Display (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing well and should be around the mark, as seen over 1400m at Warwick Farm last start when attempting to lead throughout and he gave a strong kick from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through when second to Dance To The Boom. Good racing style, he’s in the mix.

8 Peace Officer (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is sneaky flying for Clarry Conners. He ran third to Dance To The Boom in the race mentioned above. He got off speed and was trucking but when the sprint went on, he was left a bit flat footed. But, he kept on and kept finding the line in defeat. He’ll be strong late, he can win.

NEXT BEST: Race Two Number 5 Motoscafo

LONG SHOT: Race Eight Number 9 Firestorm
