1 Evaporate (Bet Now: $2.90) looks a Team Hayes three year old that has promise. He made a sustained run two weeks ago here and gapped them late to win in dominant fashion. Extra trip no issue, hard fit, in form and stable is absolutely flying. Extremely hard to beat here.

Danger

4 Cocobill (Bet Now: $5.50) could be a sneaky prospect for the Derby. Busuttin/Young trained son of Vadamos that debuted over 1400m at Seymour where he led throughout and gee he was trucking before being clicked up by Childs and away he went, winning by a space in a sharp debut. Confident he can run well here.

Long Shot

2 Peru (Bet Now: $23.00) should appreciate a rise in trip. This guy resumed over 1300m at Sandown against the older horses. He got off the speed and made up minor headway in defeat behind Riproar in what I thought was a pass mark. Fitter and up in distance, kind map, one for exotics.

Race 2. (12:40) Drummond Golf (Bm74) 1600m

Chances are you're about to lose.

4 Le Mans (Bet Now: $4.80) looks a really good mare of the future I feel at this level and a touch higher. Aussie debut came at Caulfield three weeks and she was one of the real eye catchers, closing off with real purpose late in the piece behind Lovazou. Fitter and up in trip…if she handles The Valley, I think she wins.

Danger

8 Written In Code (Bet Now: $3.60) is a talented mare for the Neasham/Archibald camp but she is becoming costly to follow from a punters perspective. Ran over 1400m at Sandown last time and closed her race off with purpose but couldn’t quite get there when a narrow second to Hughes. The mile, I think, is fine, and B Shinn sticks.

Long Shot

3 Aiming (Bet Now: $23.00) is one to be given respect to. Ciaron Maher trained mare that ran here two weeks back. She got back off the speed and while she was never threatening, she kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat behind Trosettee. Back to Mares grade, racing well, she’s certainly in with a shout.

Race 3. (13:15) Powerflo Solutions (Bm84) 1600m

10 Nails Murphy (Bet Now: $4.20) is knocking on the door to win. Can make a case to say he should have won two weeks back here at this trip. He was bolting on the fence. Just a matter of getting clear air and he did get it, but it was too late behind Trosettee. If he gets room to move earlier, he’s dangerous.

Danger

9 Regal Zeus (Bet Now: $6.00) is an honest animal for Phillip Stokes that should be around the mark. He has raced at this track/distance his past couple, the latest being behind Trosettee where he got a suck run in behind and angled clear, looking the winner, but found one better. Genuine animal, racing well, commands respect.

Long Shot

6 Trosettee (Bet Now: $15.00) was a long time between drinks prior to two weeks ago at this track/distance and the run of outs came to an end, coming with a well timed run under Billy Egan, had full momentum and was too good late. Now he has that winning feeling again, he can certainly go on with it.

Race 4. (13:50) Bendigo Bank (Bm78) 2040m

Chances are you're about to lose.

Back Me

12 Dillian (Bet Now: $20.00) looks to have come back in really good order for Ciaron Maher and rates as a knockout hope. Resumed behind Aspen Colorado a few weeks back at The Valley over the mile. He got back to near last in the run and made up decent enough headway without threatening. Good upside and up in trip, he’s in with a shout.

Danger

4 Lincoln Rocks (Bet Now: $2.25) has done little wrong this time in for Neasham/Archibald and commands respect. Track/distance winner two back before going to the same set up a fortnight back and looked the winner throughout but just found one better in Lauding in a close finish. Only has to hold his form to be around the mark.

Long Shot

6 Station One (Bet Now: $20.00) is on the seven day back up after racing last Saturday at Caulfield when leading and with the stiff headwind, he couldn’t sustain the run, tiring late behind surprise winner Convener. I think with more suitable conditions, he can run an improved race.

Race 5. (14:25) Chautauqua Stakes 1200m

Chances are you're about to lose.

Back Me

3 Arkansaw Kid (Bet Now: $1.85) has returned as a gelding and looks to have come back in super order. He resumed a few weeks back in the Regal Roller at Caulfield where he was smashed in betting and under a confident steer from Currie, he was far too good, and the big tick is that he paraded with improvement to come. Loves racing at Caulfield and with good upside, rates highly.

Danger

4 Who Dares (Bet Now: $6.00) is a beauty. He will put himself on speed and give cheek, which is what he did in the Regal Roller and gave a strong kick but just found one better in Arkansaw Kid. If he finds the front and if this track is playing up/in, he will look the winner at some stage.

Long Shot

5 Snapper (Bet Now: $34.00) is a Moroney/Thompson trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since the Australia Stakes when leading, copping heat, and tiring badly to finish tailed off last behind Group l winner Veight. He does have a fab record at The Valley and has jumped out well, so watch the market.

Race 6. (15:00) Atlantic Jewel Stakes 1200m

3 Silmarillion (Bet Now: $2.50) looks the one to beat. James Cummings trained filly that is two weeks between runs since contesting the Light Fingers at Randwick when on speed and looked the winner when she kicked but was nabbed on the peg by Ameena. No horse of that quality here, lands near the front…takes beating.

Danger

2 Immortal Star (Bet Now: $5.00) looks to have returned in really good order for Danny O’Brien. This girl has had two runs back, both coming here. Tardy start beat her fresh but she made amends two weeks back, getting the sweet sit in transit before angling clear and finished best to win. Hard to knock her and commands respect.

Long Shot

5 Sakima (Bet Now: $6.00) is an interesting runner. Peter Snowden trained filly that was thrown in the deep end two weeks back in the Light Fingers and while she was held on the line, I thought she didn’t disgrace herself in defeat behind Ameena. Stable rarely get it wrong when they come to Melbourne with a Sydney horse so watch the market.

Race 7. (15:35) Mckenzie Stakes 1200m

Chances are you're about to lose.

Back Me

3 Public Attention (Bet Now: $6.00) is a talented colt for Price/Kent that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since his debut back in in July when a strong winner over a nice horse, Ndola, who has won since and looks Stakes class, so I think that form reads well and his trial last week at Cranbourne was quite good.

Danger

2 Epimeles (Bet Now: $4.20) has done nothing wrong in a two start career and commands respect. 2/2 in the Autumn, bolting up on debut at Sandown before a dominant win in the Anzac Day Stakes at Flemington. He looks a good horse, has jumped out well…just watch the market and see if it tells you whether he’s ready or not.

Long Shot

4 Bosustow (Bet Now: $12.00) is a Neasham/Archibald trained colt that resumes after a pretty solid Autumn/Winter prep, which ended with a placing behind star colt Broadsiding in the JJ Atkins. He will get better as the distances increase but has trialed well leading and stable finds B Shinn fresh so watch the market.

Race 8. (16:15) So You Think Stakes 1500m

I want to give 5 Buffalo River (Bet Now: $10.00) another look. He jumped out super prior to his return in the PB Lawrence where he just did too much work on speed and tired late in the piece behind Gentleman Roy in a race where the form stood right up in the Memsie. I think he’ll lead for fun and take running down.

Danger

2 Pericles (Bet Now: $1.90) is three weeks between runs for James Cummings since resuming in the PB Lawrence where he seemingly had every chance in transit but just couldn’t quite finish the job when a close up third to Gentleman Roy. He has class, the brilliance…but just needs to put a race away.

Long Shot

7 Pounding (Bet Now: $12.00) can run an improved race back to this level. Moody/Coleman trained gelding that ran threeweeks back in the PB Lawrence where he seemingly had every chance from off the speed but was never really a factor behind Gentleman Roy. Back to this grade, he does have class when right, so not dismissing him.

Race 9. (16:50) Moir Stakes 1000m

Back Me

I remember last year, Peter Moody said about 1 I Wish I Win (Bet Now: $4.60) that when he resumed in the Memsie, he didn’t need to be wound right up for it given it was 1400m and that there was petrol in the tank. 12 months, here he is resuming at 1000m and I reckon he’s wound right up. His jumpout work has been strong and last time he was at the 1000m, his run in the Lightning was incredible. If he handles the track and is within range, look out.

Danger

6 Estriella (Bet Now: $3.10) looks to be absolutely humming for Ciaron Maher. Most of these runners are here to make a statement for The Everest and she is probably leading the line for that given what she did in the Autumn where she looked like a jet before an end of prep run in the Sangster. Her trial/jumpout work has been electric, has been set for the race…very hard to beat.

Long Shot

2 Mornington Glory (Bet Now: $8.50) has been a revelation the last 6-12 months and is clearly liking The Valley so he has earned a crack. Lot to like about his Carlyon won two weeks back, sitting off speed, making a sustained run and was strong to the line in winning. I say no, he can’t win, but maps to do no work and is a must for exotics.

Race 10. (17:25) Ladbrokes Racing Club (Bm84) 1200m

Chances are you're about to lose.

Back Me

10 Piastri (Bet Now: $4.40) is heading in the right direction for Ciaron Maher and no reason why he can’t win again. He was a strong winner a few weeks ago over 1100m at Rosehill, getting the suck run in transit before angling for clear air and he got better as the race went on to win and win well. Good test here I think but confident he can measure up.

Danger

8 Miss Aria (Bet Now: $4.00) is a quality mare for Danny O’Brien that comes here with residual fitness, having not raced since July 14 at the Sunny Coast when placing in the Winx Guineas behind Xidaki. Has residual fitness and although is better suited over further, she has the quality to blouse them.

Long Shot

2 Home Rule (Bet Now: $19.00) is a beauty for Maddie Raymond and commands some level of respect. He won here a few weeks back at this track/distance. He got into a dream sit in transit and presented to win on the turn, proving quite strong to the line in winning. Consistent animal and should be around the mark.
