Race 1. (13:13) Become A BRC Member Handicap 1110m
7 Mishani Rozay (Bet Now: $6.50) looks a nice filly for Lindsay Gough that was a dominant trial winner at Deagon a couple of weeks ago over 650m. Didn’t beat much but went about her business nicely. Not a deep race for mine, so I am happy to be in her corner.
8 Summer Sensation (Bet Now: $4.80) is a juvenile with talent. Kelly Schweida trained filly that trialled up super at Deagon over 1050m, winning by a space and seemingly did it comfortably. Stable is flying with their juveniles, so watch the market.
4 Sheza Boom (Bet Now: $4.20) was accepted for the Inglis Millennium in Sydney but runs here after drawing wide. She hasn’t been too bad in a couple of runs, the latest in the Inglis Nursery when off speed and kept chasing in a solid effort. Leading contender.
Race 2. (13:48) Racecourse Village Handicap (Class 1) 1200m
1 Mr Bubbaluski (Bet Now: $7.00) steps up to 1200m after resuming over 1110m here three weeks ago. He just found them a bit sharp but I did like the way he finished his race off in defeat behind Financially Famous. Fitter, 1200m, good upside, he’s hard to beat.
3 Dominant Darcy (Bet Now: $1.85) has done little wrong this time in and commands respect. Both runs back have come here, winning fresh at this trip in dominant fashion before a second over 1350m last time. Like her back in trip and strikes a winnable race.
7 Divine Diamonds (Bet Now: $9.00) is a Team Munce trained mare that resumes. She is first up, having not raced since July 5 when down the track in the Capricorn Guineas at Rockhampton. Looks to have trialled up very well for the return, watch betting.
Race 3. (14:23) Sky Racing Handicap (78) 2000m
8 Prince Levi (Bet Now: $2.60) is bursting to win. Thought he was the winner two weeks ago at the Sunny Coast when he hit the front but had no answers late for the finale of the in form Enterprise Private. Like him back to 2000m and he does seem to have found a winnable race.
4 Capital Asset (Bet Now: $11.00) attempted to lead throughout a fortnight back at the Sunny Coast. He gave a decent sight from the front but just couldn’t quite see it through when fourth to Nails Murphy. Good racing style, he’ll take running down with front end control.
9 Texas Fireball (Bet Now: $7.50) comes back to 2000m after attempting to lead throughout two weeks back at the Sunny Coast. He gave a decent sight but just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Enterprise Private. Back to 2000m, more patient steer, he can run an improved race.
Race 4. (14:58) The Gibson Handicap (70) 1350m
4 Ten Deep (Bet Now: $2.00) for me. First run for Tony Gollan saw her win over 1200m here, knuckling down with purpose late to wear them down and score, landing decent bets. Good upside, rising to 1350m…points to her taking this out.
8 Davikar (Bet Now: $10.00) has returned really well for Gillian Heinrich and is one of the hardest to beat. She won a couple of weeks back at Ipswich, knuckling down with purpose late from off speed to score. Good test here, but hard to knock the way she’s racing.
5 Pierata’s Gem (Bet Now: $4.50) ran two weeks back at the Sunny Coast where she was ridden with intent to land on speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch late behind Too Many Thoughts. Maps to get a suck run and is a must for exotics.
Race 5. (15:33) Ladbrokes Plate (Class 3) 1110m
8 Yoyo Yeezy (Bet Now: $2.20) steps up to 1110m after a runner up effort two weeks ago over 1000m at the Sunny Coast. Thought he was there to win when presented but just found one better in Power Of The Brave. If the extra 110m is fine, good racing style, he takes beating.
5 Neil (Bet Now: $5.00), you would think, is a horse that could be a Country Championships contender for Matty Dunn. He resumes, having not raced since Aug 23 when an impressive Highway winner on wet ground at Randwick. Trialled super last week, he’s certainly one to watch from a betting perspective.
13 Zoubaby (Bet Now: $3.20) is three weeks between runs since contesting the Class 6 Plate on Magic Millions Day when off speed and was okay late without threatening behind Hawker Hall. Back to Class 3 grade, she clearly rates highly.
Race 6. (16:08) Girls Day Out Handicap (70) 1350m
9 Too Many Thoughts (Bet Now: $2.90) was a big win two weeks back at the Sunny Coast when doing work near the speed and credit to him, he found plenty under pressure to fend them off and score. He’s flying this horse and with good upside to come, he appeals.
19 Land Bank (Bet Now: $3.70) was prohibitive odds when racing at Ipswich last time where he looked to have a bit on them and he duly saluted. He indeed had a bit on them. Has run well at metro level before and with his confidence up, he commands respect.
7 Ramp It Up (Bet Now: $7.50) is dangerous here for Lindsay Gough. He ran over 1350m at Doomben last time out where he got back off speed and while he was never threatening, he kept chasing and was far from disgraced in defeat behind Carravilla. Hard fit, he appeals.
Race 7. (16:47) Sandi Bradford Memorial Handicap 1350m
1 Fabulantes (Bet Now: $2.10) should appreciate 1350m if last start is any guide. He ran over 1200m two weeks ago at the Sunny Coast, ridden with a sit. He reacted to it, working home strongly late when second to Mrs Goldberg. Off that, the extra 150m is fine and clearly appeals.
9 Ready For Aimee (Bet Now: $5.50) steps up tom 1350m after placing at the Sunny Coast a fortnight back. She got off speed and worked home with purpose in a pretty good effort in defeat. Like the rise in trip for her and strikes a winnable race.
2 Certified Copy (Bet Now: $10.00) has been given a five week freshen up, his last run being on Jan 3 over 1200m at Ipswich when off speed and kept chasing in a decent effort in defeat. Tick over trial was pretty good, I’d watch betting and see what it does.
Race 8. (17:27) XXXX Handicap (0MW) 1200m
20 Zoufani (Bet Now: $7.00) looks ready to rock and roll for her return for Tony Gollan. She did nice things when last in work during the Spring, not running a bad race in her four run campaign. Given a good break and her trial work has been more than encouraging.
13 Streak Of Winning (Bet Now: $10.00) ran a fortnight back at this trip at the Sunny Coast. He got into a decent spot off speed and tried hard but just found one better in Estrondo, who is flying. He’s racing really well for the Currie team and is one of the hardest to beat here.
2 Scud (Bet Now: $7.50) comes back to 1200m after racing over 1400m several weeks back at Eagle Farm when far from disgraced in defeat behind Chief Witness. Like her back to 1200m and the depth here is nowhere near as deep IMO.
Race 9. (18:10) Magic Millions Handicap 1200m
3 Hell (Bet Now: $1.85) is a tough on speed campaigner for Tony Gollan and it’s hard to get away from him running really well here, as seen two weeks ago at the Sunny Coast. Hailed as the winner when leading and booting clear but was nabbed late by Hatchet. Looks the likely leader and will take running down.
4 Weigall Tiger (Bet Now: $9.00) is a Kelly Schweida trained gelding that resumes. He is first up, having not raced since Sep 20 when down the track at the Gold Coast, looking a tired horse. Given a good break and his trial work has been quite encouraging so watch the market.
8 Sailor’s Secret (Bet Now: $23.00) is five weeks between runs since racing over 1400m at Eagle Farm. He got into a decent spot just off speed but whacked late behind Esjay. Tick over trial was pretty good and back to 1200m with fresh legs, he’s dangerous.
Race 10. (18:45) Ladbrokes Handicap (78) 1600m
14 Bengal Diamond (Bet Now: $3.10) ran over 1400m a fortnight back at the Sunny Coast. She got too far out of her ground and while she was never a winning threat, she kept chasing and was quite good in defeat. If she can settle closer and be within range, she takes beating.
2 Quothquan (Bet Now: $7.00) is third up from a spell and should be at peak fitness. He ran third at the Sunny Coast two weeks back, getting off speed and was trucking before getting splits and loomed large but couldn’t quite get there. Hard fit, will be strong late…just needs to be within range.
4 Kipling’s Journey (Bet Now: $27.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over the mile at the Sunny Coast behind Nails Murphy where the market said he’d need the run and that is how it panned out. His best is good enough to be dangerous.
