10 You Better Run (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1100m after racing over 1400m at Launceston on Jan 24 when off speed and chased well enough but couldn’t quite finish the job. Maps to get a sweet run off the speed and back to 1100m, she should be strong at the end.

4 The Trine (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a son of Alpine Eagle that was big odds when debuting over this track/distance and he almost saluted, leading and giving a big sight but just tired late. Lands on speed again and takes running down against these. Leading contender.

2 Club City (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is an improver at odds. He resumed on the Devonport Synthetic where he was well away but couldn’t sustain the run and just felt the pinch late. Better run in transit and he’s good enough to threaten at odds.

7 Tosen Fame (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to have returned really well and should take beating against these. Last start saw her finally break the maiden tag, with the win coming over 1200m when near the speed snd finished best in a driving go. The draw is tricky but overall, this isn’t a deep race so happy to be in her corner.

1 Scarletti (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a last start maiden winner, with the win coming over 1400m at Launceston where he led throughout and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and win. Harder here, but with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.

9 Carnellan Rock (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1400m after racing on Australia Day over the mile here when off speed snd was quite plain late, perhaps struggling at the trip. Back to 1400m, he’ll get a soft trip in transit and could pinch a first four spot.

2 Muscle Up (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the beet horse in the race and third up from a spell, he should just about be ready to go. Latest run came over 1200m at Launceston last time when attempting to lead throughout and gave a strong kick but just died on the run. Like him up in trip and he gets a big jockey upgrade.

1 Just A Needs (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since a track/distance win, finishing best in a driving go to win and win well. He’s found winning form now and he can certainly go on with it despite creeping up in the relative weights.

4 Stardarmus (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is on the quick back up after racing at Launceston on Sunday when contesting the Magic Millions and didn’t disgrace himself in defeat at all behind Durazzo. That form surely has to read well for this.

1 Magnaprime (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks a good thing provided there is petrol left in the tank. Latest run was Jan 3 in the Tasmanian Guineas when on speed and fought hard but just didn’t run the mile out. Back to 1200m, back mikes in depth snd Blinkers first time, he is the one to beat.

3 Highland Duel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since racing over 1100m here when on speed and fought hard but just lacked the finale to go with Ms Tasmania. Newitt does seem to click with the horse and he has a good racing style. A threat if Magnaprime is off his game.

4 First Line (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a slight query at 1200m but with her racing style, she can pinch a first four spot. She attempted to lead throughout last start in the race mentioned above over 1100m and was game in defeat but just couldn’t quite finish the job. Not sure she wins, but she’s a must for exotics.

I am actually surprised that 3 Kicking King (Bet Now:  $SP.00) isn’t favourite here. The locals are usually very steady in this race and the Victorians have a great record when they come across. This guy was a real eye catcher at Flemington last time when off speed and worked home with purpose. He’ll love the rise to 2200m and the depth is thin.

1 Likeakalix (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the clear pick of the locals given how dominant he was in the Guineas last time, getting the beaut run off speed before angling for clear air and he made a mess of them late. He beat nothing though and this is harder, but, he’s the local hope who does stay.

2 Garcon D’Espoir (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one to be included in exotics. She ran fourth to Likeakalix in the race mentioned above when doing early work to land on speed snd just couldn’t run the trip out. Better run in transit here, she can run top three snd snare some valuable blacktype.

8 Lily Luella (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks extremely hard to beat here off the back of a dominant win over this trip at Launceston last time when on speed and she found plenty late, drawing clear to win impressively. Only has to hold her form and I think she will be winning again.

1 Alpine Affair (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the key snd I dare say only threat given he was a strong winner in a 78 last time, showing nice change up speed late to score. Back to 68 grade so creeps up in the weights but does get the claim and has runs on the board.

5 Hellot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness, his latest run being at this track/distance when back in the run snd failed to get involved when down the track. Significant jockey upgrade and maps to settle much closer in the run.

14 Ms Tasmania (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has earned a crack at Stakes company for mine after winning five on the bounce, three of those being this prep. Latest came over 1100m here when settling off speed before angling into clear air and let down with real purpose late to win and win well. Good test here, but confident she can measure up.

13 Geegees Mistruth (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a very good filly for Stuart Gandy that resumes. She hasn’t raced since contesting the Thousand Guineas at Caulfield where she was at the end of her prep and looked a tired horse behind Another Prophet. Returns home, has trialled super and has class.

1 Dazzling Lucy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a slight query at 1200m at this level but she is racing very well at present for Tony Noonan. Last start saw her win down the straight at Flemington and credit to her, she was there to be beaten but she found under pressure to score. She’s in the mix.

13 Araya Sunshine (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has an awful gate to overcome but she is flying at present. Dominant track/distance win last start, settling off speed before being presented clear air and she made a mess of them late to win and win well. If she can get luck from the draw, she’s going to take beating.

8 Lispector (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done little wrong this time in and commands respect. She attempted to lead throughout on Devonport Cup Day last start and gave a decent sight from the front but just felt the pinch late when third. Lands on speed and back on the turf, she appeals.

14 Elmajay (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should be better for the first up run, which came over 1100m here. She landed near the speed and tried hard but condition just gave way late in the piece. Has a decent enough second up record, I would be including her in exotics.

NEXT BEST: Race Five Number 3 Kicking King

LONG SHOT: Race One Number 10 You Better Run
