4/4/2026 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Oakbank, Hills Railway Stakes day

The Oakbank Carnival kicks off this Saturday, headlined by the Railway Stakes (1100m). The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

2 Kalmana (Bet Now: $3.20) should take beating up to the mile after resuming over 1300m three weeks ago on the Parks track. IMO, Jones went too slow in front and didn’t get rolling early enough when a narrow second to Oak Park Madison. Fitter, 1400m, should make this more of a contest and prove hard to get past.

3 No No Yes (Bet Now: $7.00) comes here for Price/Kent after a maiden win at Newcastle when giving them a start and a beating in an impressive display I thought. He has good upside to come and should be strong late.

4 One More Song (Bet Now: $3.70) should appreciate getting to 1400m after resuming over 1250m three weeks back at Morphettville Parks. She did too much work, wide no cover, and felt the pinch late behind Cork Harbour. Back to her own age, she’s a definite improver.

13 Juxtapose (Bet Now: $2.80) is four weeks between runs since a first up fourth at Murray Bridge where she just got a bit too far back in the run but didn’t mind the way she finished her race off in defeat. If she can settle closer and be within range, she’ll take holding out.

4 Trade Game (Bet Now: $8.50) is a son of Hanseatic that debuts for Team Jolly. He has had extensive trial/jumpout work to get ready for start one and each time has looked impressive. Tricky draw, but should press forward and be around the mark.

8 Tiddy Widdy (Bet Now: $13.00) has had a few chances to break the maiden tag but is honest and can run first four. He placed at this track/distance. He got into a decent spot and presented to win but just couldn’t quite get there. One for exotics.

4 Uptown Funk (Bet Now: $4.60) seemingly took charge of Kayla Crowther in the Morphettville Guineas. Went out way too hard in front and felt the pinch late. Back sharply in trip I find interesting but he is a talented horse and if he brings his best, he can measure up for sure.

2 Sir Myka (Bet Now: $5.50) comes back to 1050m after racing over 1300m three weeks back at Morphettville Parks. He had every chance in behind but just didn’t quite run the trip out. Much better suited here I feel, he’s one of the leading contenders with his best.

5 Carpe Astra (Bet Now: $6.50) has been given a four week freshen up since a maiden win at Murray Bridge when off speed and trucking before being angled into clear air and drove hard late to score. Confidence is up, she can go on with it.

1 Teardrop Rotation (Bet Now: $7.00) is a Chris Bieg trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up after a strong Spring/Summer prep, which ended with a close up fourth over the mile at Morphettville. Looks to have trialled well, watch betting, because she does have a touch of class on her side.

3 Jilladora (Bet Now: $23.00) was a strong winner two weeks ago at Morphettville Parks. She gave them a start and a beating, sitting off speed and finished best in a driving go to score. Back to Mares grade, I think she commands respect against these.

10 Swycho (Bet Now: $17.00) is a Michael Hickmott trained mare that resumes. She is first up, having not raced since Nov 1 when on speed and tried hard but just felt the pinch late behind Snoopy Now. Given a good break, looks to have jumped out well, watch the market.

2 Savsonic (Bet Now: $13.00) didn’t do a bad job in defeat two back at Morphettville Parks behind Bring Forth before going to Strathalbyn a few days later and was impressive, albeit in a much weaker race. But, the confidence is up and this looks a race on the thin side, so she has to be considered a threat.

8 Somewhere Soon (Bet Now: $5.50) landed big bets when a winner over 1800m at Morphettville two back. She then went to 2000m at Morphettville on Adelaide Cup Day when off speed and made up some headway without threatening. She’ll be strong late. Just depends what start she concedes.

5 Classy Claret (Bet Now: $13.00) comes back to 1900m after racing over 2000m on Adelaide Cup Day at Morphettville. He landed in a decent spot just off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite get the job done when third to Just A Brother, but was far from disgraced. Back to 1900m should be fine, he’s dangerous.

3 Burning Bright (Bet Now: $3.90) is racing well for Andrew Gluyas and should be around the mark, as seen two weeks ago at Morphettville Parks when near the speed throughout and thought she was there to win but had no answers for Bring Forth. Like her slightly back in trip and the depth here, as a whole, isn’t overly deep.

5 Oxford Blue (Bet Now: $4.00) steps up to 2150m after racing over the mile at Morphettville last Saturday. He lobbed into a decent spot just off speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through and just felt the pinch late behind Cash. He has that hard mile run under the belt and brings strong form lines.

9 King Of Wessex (Bet Now: $17.00) steps up in trip after racing over 1550m two weeks back at Morphettville Parks when back near last in the run and worked home with real purpose late in the piece behind Bargain Boy. Like the rise in distance and if within range, he’s going well enough to be dangerous.

1 Watadeel (Bet Now: $10.00) comes back to 1400m after racing over the mile in the CS Hayes Memorial. He got off speed and kept chasing without threatening behind the in form Arran Bay. If he can settle closer and be within range. he’s dangerous.

6 Streetcar Apollo (Bet Now: $6.00) steps up to 1400m after a win over 1250m at Morphettville Parks, sitting off speed before coming with a well timed run to finish best and score. The 1400m, at this level, is a slight query, but hard to knock the way he’s racing.

5 Fast Bubbles (Bet Now: $16.00) is racing well for Francis/Kent and is dangerous. He ran second over 1400m at Murray Bridge last time, driving hard late from just off speed but just missed behind Star Sirius. Racing well and commands respect against these.

Each way for me with 1 Prairie Flower (Bet Now: $11.00). Will Clarken trained mare that comes through the Manihi where she got back to near last in the run and made up decent headway without threatening behind Celerity. Big rider change and loved the recent tick over trial. Only runs well.

9 Mic Drop (Bet Now: $2.80) did a really good job in defeat in the Manihi on Adelaide Cup Day. She attempted to lead throughout and gave a decent sight but had no answers late for Celerity when second. Tick over trial was strong, she should land on speed and only run well.

7 Zoupurring (Bet Now: $11.00) was game in defeat in the Manihi. He was wide throughout and while he was never really threatening, he kept chasing and was a definite pass mark. He will likely spot them a start again but be quite strong at the end.

9 Cuban Waters (Bet Now: $17.00) comes back to 1050m after placing over 1250m three weeks ago at Morphettville Parks when leading and giving a strong kick but just couldn’t quite see it through when nabbed late by Cork Harbour. Good racing style and is racing in nearly career best form.

7 Jahangir (Bet Now: $16.00) is an interesting runner. He has had one run for the Jolly/Potter camp, which came on Feb 21 over 1050m at Morphettville when on speed and tried hard but felt the pinch late behind Invertational. Jumped out super since, he can run a much improved race.

4 Dyer (Bet Now: $14.00) is hit and miss but is dangerous with his best. He ran over 1000m two weeks back at Morphettville Parks when off speed and seemingly had his chance but just whacked late behind Omaha Dawn. Third up, hard fit, this is D Day.
